Persistent attenuation of lymphocyte subsets after mass SARS-CoV-2 infection
Growing evidence suggests that lymphocyte subsets are declined in COVID-19 patients, but it is unclear if these alterations persist after widespread e…
“Our findings redefine SARS-CoV-2 infection as a condition of long-lasting immune compromise.”
At this point, I genuinely have no ability to comprehend how is anyone not scared sh*t-less about the long-term consequences of infections, especially on kids?

Wastewater virus signals for Toronto, for the 52 week period ending Friday March 6 2026 showing a drastic spike in COVID-19. RSV, Flu A and Flu B are also shown. 1/ If I hear one more public official call indoor air filters a "band-aid," I'm going to explode! Filtering indoor air should be as standard as filtering water. Full stop. 🧵

We currently have 9 of these in the house- all now made with PC fans and 2 filters- have changed filters many times now yet I always have to take photos of the dirty filters and share with family how disgusting they get. Always watching Costco for sales on the filters!

text says "There’s no way to know which COVID-19 infection will cause long-term illness. Each new COVID-19 infection increases your risk of organ damage, Long COVID, and disability, even if you have no other health conditions that you know of, and even if your previous COVID-19 infections were mild or had no symptoms. Protect your lifelong health by protecting yourself from COVID-19, no matter your age or health history. Wear masks. get vaccinated. keep indoor air clean.” Graphics on the side illustrate people getting sick repeatedly until eventually they end up with long-term illness.

Most aren't aware.
Public health is lying to everyone via omission.
Blaming multiple illnesses and deaths on other comorbidities (some non-existent).
Education, while investing in IAQ infrastructure, seems the best path forward.🙏

It was a long ETFO peel meeting tonight.
Both motions I presented were approved unanimously🙏
Next step to lobbying the Ministry of Education to invest in cleaner indoor air, better monintoring & education re: IAQ in all schools is to present these motions for approval at the AGM in the summer.

Dear Young People.
This post is written for you…
Our generation of doctors decided to let you all get infected with a novel virus without even protection from vaccines in many cases, and we already knew that some of you would be killed or disabled for life when we made that decision.

Study: SARS-CoV-2 RNA found in 39% of hospital air samples during outbreaks, despite good ventilation
Study: SARS-CoV-2 RNA found in 39% of hospital air samples during outbreaks, despite good ventilation.
Kirby Institute researchers sampled air and surfaces in a Sydney hospital ED and ICU during two COVID-19 waves (Nov 2023–Jul 2024), detecting SARS-CoV-2 RNA in 39% of aerosol samples collected.

I’m going to say again, infecting your allies with a potentially debilitating and deadly illness is extremely foolish behavior in any kind of movement. You’re doing work for the other guys.

This Is How a Child Dies of Measles
When your family becomes a data point in an outbreak
This is a vivid, horribly relevant read. “She does not sleep well. And as you lift up her pajama top to check her rash one morning, you see that her breathing is labored, shadows pooling between her ribs when she sucks in air. You suffer an icy moment of realization: This is a medical crisis.”

NEWSFLASH: Everyone needs their lungs, vascular & immune systems, organs, & brain intact to continue making a living, and to continue performing the act of living. We should all be K/N95 masking while demanding clean air at work, school & all public spaces. Govt won’t support you when you can’t work

Threads exchange. A surgeon replied to my post about doctors not wearing high quality masks around transplant patients
drlisanyc
Post surgical infections are not from oral flora or random viruses - they are from the patients skin flora and, in the case of transplants, reactivated viruses that already are within the patient or rarely introduced thy the transplanted organ
chantzyz
Not mutually exclusive? Airborne viral transmission is a separate risk from surgical site infection.
Covid spreads through the air. A doctor wearing an insufficient mask can certainly pass it to a vulnerable patient
Today I had to explain to a surgeon why it's important to wear respirator style masks around vulnerable patients. I am tired

How many university or college students are sitting in large classes for prolonged periods of time with hundreds of other students and zero mitigations?
Why do have to keep playing this stupid game + winning stupid prizes? We’re playing with their futures.

Same here in Canada! We went from cloth masks in April 2020 and by April 2021 we were in respirators. Not sure how YEARS can go by and people still don't know.

I’ve just read again the aerosol study on C19 carried out in Nebraska, in 2020.
They showed RNA in the air, on surfaces that could only be contaminated by the airborne route, and they even showed cytopathic effect and intact virus particles in cultures…
And this wasn’t enough to change anything.

And LTC homes! Masks required by all employees at my Mom's-all surgical masks and very oddly visitors don't need anything! Also of note the PSW that exited my mom's room when we arrived yesterday had hers under her chin. She put it on once she saw us. No enforcement.

Carney mulling $1B membership to Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’
The Canadian PM said the POTUS invite came "a few weeks ago."
Canada must not do this. It is a mockery of international political governance, legitimizing the idea that Trump can simply push aside other countries' sovereignty.

Mine are same. Mom is 88 in LTC for 2 years. There's been 14 outbreaks in the home in that time. Mom has been in isolation too many times to count now. Baggy blues are mandatory right now but only on workers and volunteers NOT visitors. Nothing makes sense.

So disappointing when those with supressed/damaged immune systems also don't care. We always explained to kids that is part of why we get vaccinated. Friend with 2 cancers now gets ill 2-3 times a year does nothing to prevent. Family visits Mom in LTC mask free. We continue to mask and care.
