Thatโ€™s alienation and trauma, driven by a generational cycle of hatred & colonized mindset.

Zulโ€™jinโ€™s other foil, Kinduru, is the embodiment of someone who never carried that. He is Zulโ€™jarraโ€™s grandfather where Zulโ€™jin is not. He also never lost his faith in Akilโ€™zon.

who, much like Jinโ€™do the Hexxer and the Drakkari, was involved in twisting the power of the loa.

Liadrin being brought in a veteran of the third war also helps to layout some of that reconciliation of identity clash within the foilโ€” Zulโ€™jin is as unruly to Zulโ€™jarra as Zulโ€™jarra is to us.

fitting, in a way, and ZA could be read in the long arc of WoW as a foil to the blood elves, with Zulโ€™jinโ€™s leadership being imperfect in some of the ways Kaelโ€™thasโ€™s was as well.

Driven by ambition when the blood elves were still weak, he reorganized his people with a warlock benefactor

Honestly, I think a lot of this comes down to the fact that they werenโ€™t sure how to handle Malacrass out the gate. Making him a manipulator of Zulโ€™jin would either make him a weak puppet or stupid, which is not the sharp wit people associate with him.

Pride certainly is, which makes Revendreth

Interesting! I haven't played through it all yet (been busy :P)-- Ohn'ahra comes to mind there;

If Aln is "Rift"/"Shadow" and -'ahra is the shorthand for bird spirits, it reminds me of the myth of the Morrigan and similar myths about 3-talon birds & sovereignty goddesses.

represented in TWW's Earthen lore, with the spark given by Xal'atath to the Machine Speaker.

The return of the element of void to them enabled the continued creation of new Earthen, with the first one being named, fittingly, "Dawn".

Based on the shadow/water themes of devouring and being conjoined in the void as reshaped essence, the idea of "Us" invokes a melting pot of souls, where none retain individuality. The Silence at the End of Us implies there is a silence that separates individuals from eachother-- something visibly

-Alnor also is probably connected to Aln, which based on the name of the "Rift", it seems to be related to an echoing empty silence ("The Quiet at the End of Us").

or even Lo'sho*, the Blue Child, depending on how you weigh the transitional properties of the story elements in that archaeoastronomy.

Also, G'h- for G'huun, Old God of Blood. G'hanir would be a Child of Blood, the branch of first life brought to Azeroth by Eonar (Mu'sha in the Eyes of the Earthmother story)

They talk about a lot of minorities this way, but it is never right.

Agreed, but that has been a problem going back to the origins of wowโ€” non-main characters usually get masc and femme variations, one for general questgivers, one for merchants, and then a set of voices for kids

Also all my noble and scheming friends are fruity ๐Ÿ’…

The contorted pale-faced Sarthera = lunar

Death Knight ripped apart at limbs by Kaelโ€™thasโ€™s arcane fire magic = Shattered Sun

Antonidas witnessing this = Eye of Amanโ€™Thul/Sargaerasโ€™ mind shattering

The shield shattered to block the death bolt =~ Turalyon shield =~ symbolic of an extraplanar ward

There is so much hidden magic jargon in that text omg

I like the diversity of voices, and the โ€œfruitinessโ€ personally feels like it correlates to the aestheticism and nobility class system; like thereโ€™s warriors and paladins and itโ€™s a strong hunting culture, but they are aesthetic gardeners and craftspeople and scholars as well w/ strong metro vibes

I wonder if there will be a Darkmoon Faire lore change ;)

Lots of Sun-Moon lore on the near horizon

Honestly, between Lirath and Sylvanas, he has plenty of lgbtq+ relatives + a toxic aunties that really tries to get him into church in Liadrin/into raves in Xalโ€™atath to support him

and also all the daddy issues, true representation

still within Sargaeras, the Shattered Sun.)

The lightโ€™s reaction will create an error response a thousand years deep requiring the Titans to intervene, especially Norgannon

Okay so the Turalyonโ€™s shield questlineโ€ฆ my standing theory is this:

Turalyon murdered Anduin Lothar, in cold blood, for the valor and acclaim.

This is going to create a violent reaction within the light because its certainty is directed by memories of Anduin Lothar (prismatic memories of Medivh

Even Xalโ€™atath is like, โ€œnot THAT kind of midnightโ€ฆโ€

(Note: This is topical humor about the state of IRL global events atm)

There's a lore journal from a researcher that mentions the regrowth in the dead scar-- first peacebloom, followed by grass.

I think currently it's Windrunner Spire + Deathholme and Windrunner Village

familiarized yourself with Azshara, the most powerful mage on Azeroth. The magic she wields is what made you manifest, and there is kinship. You transformed her amidst the magic, and now her second return approaches at the Dawn of the Eternal Sun.

@nzoth.bsky.social So my theory is, based on the font of mana lore we're getting from New Eversong Woods questing, that you were created from the Sundering spilling magic into the ocean.

Once Azerite was spilled into the oceans again, you were reconstituted, and thus killable. It's also why you

I really like the Spirit of Lake Elrendar quest where you are given a blessing by the spirit of what is essentially a unicorn-- this is important elf lore to be underlined because the last major feature of a unicorn in WoW lore was way back in WC2, as the crest of the Elven Fleet from that war. :D

the Grace of Elune for the Arcaneโ€” perhaps there is more to this, as Aluneth is contained within the staff of Aegwynn.

Perhaps the Eternal Sun is not the only one shatteredโ€” perhaps Elune herself has been supplicated by the arcane.
