what is your favorite video essay(s), or long form youtube videos? I like listening to them while I draw. I've already gotten through pretty much all of Defuncland's videos so I'm looking for some extra variety... currently I'm listening to some of BobbyBrocoli's vids.

The best platform for me is Furaffinity, I got like 90% of my comms through there. Bsky is also pretty good, you gotta repost your ads a lot to get seen. It's a long climb to get to a point where you can make a living off of it, so my advice would be to not stress over it too much!

when I first started, my prices were pretty low, but I gradually increased them to a point where I'm comfortable with. There's a lot of adjusting at the beginning I feel. And yeah getting clients depends a lot of putting yourself out there

I can't give advice on taxes because I don't think I'm from the same country you are, generally I don't have to worry about them when I get paid. I use paypal invoice to collect payment, and they're generally pretty reliable. However I think most platforms handle this stuff for you (kofi, vgen, etc)

i love the fact that the late ‘60s to the early ‘80s were a pretty bold time in experimental animation. from visual effects to foley effects, people were not afraid to try new things. i don’t think we’d have stuff like ‘yellow submarine,’ ‘the phantom tollbooth,’ without stuff like this.

Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut.
They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures.
You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!

USian sounds so dumb though, I feel it's kind of difficult to pronounce. Historically there's the term Yankee which gets the point across better, or Yank.
