&nd I like thinking about how Narziss would be like in the immediate aftermath of this awakening, I think he'd feel a bit directionless and confused. And he already always allowed Goldmund far more than he should have

I think I often draw Narziss a bit OOC, but I keep thinking about that end of the novel where his worldview is shattered (Goldmun's words burning like fire in his heart suggest the same kind of awakening that Goldmund went through)

Yes!! And it's not even Hesse's queerest book (in Steppenwolf, there's a female character seducing other women "by the way of Sappho", also implied to have slept with another female character). Though I like N&G the best 🥰

digital (heavypaint) painting of hans capon and henry of skalitz from kingdom come: deliverance games cuddling in bed (view from above). hans is almost fully laying on top of henry. their upper bodies are glowing with the sunlight from the window on the right. they look happy, and content, and comfortable. there are loose thin golden chains on their necks, with the golden rings on them. the bedsheets are heavily wrinkled (and that could totally hint on anything, you know, wink wink). the whole piece is very warm. i’m smiling while writing this.
