Gosh, I remember when we had an actual president instead of a loudmouth bully who won't take responsibility for his actions.

Some fascinating things happening on Reddit. 22,000 upvotes on the subreddit dedicated to posting pictures of houses that are over 100 years old.

Middle grade is the best, isnβt it??
Iβm working on a middle grade novel, too! Just finished my third rewrite and hoping to query it this year. Love all this goofy and wacky and fun!
BrontΓ« for sure has dragons, and Malamander has tons of weirdo creatures. Both offer lovable, witty protagonists, fully fleshed out side characters & friends, humor, fantastic situations, mild danger, incredible world building, adventure, mystery, found families. As a MG writer, I just love them!
Has she tried the BrontΓ« Mettlestone series by Jaclyn Moriarty? Itβs so good!!
Also I cannot recommend the Malamander series by Thomas Taylor enough!
Hiya! Iβm a #kidlit writer who loves cats, cows, dandelions, color, & all things silly & weird. My debut picture book, ONE BUTT TWO BUTT, was indie published in 2023, and Iβve just finished the 3rd rewrite of a middle grade novel Iβm hoping to start querying in 2025. Excited to find this community!

I hope #booksky will encourage people going to libraries and supporting local book shops. I didn't see a lot of that on #booktok and think we should cultivated that here.
Iβm currently reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. It was recommended to me by my parents & a couple friends. Iβm about 200 pages in & just lost my sweet kitty boy, so a little worried itβs going to completely ruin me π but itβs good so far!
My debut picture book ONE BUTT TWO BUTT was indie published last summer! Iβm currently working on the third rewrite of a middle grade novel. Hoping 2025 is the year I finish! Would love to be surrounded by bookish folks here on Bluesky πππ
Oh Iβm so sorry. I lost my sweet boy, Sullivan about 2 months ago. Itβs the worst feeling ever. Here are some favorites of him
Today, my job hurts. I'm a children's book reviewer. Today I'm reading an immigration picture book about the U.S. as a welcoming nation. This is not rare. Books about immigration are stories of optimism, love, and acceptance. But tomorrow, the stories will change. #writingcommunity #booksky #writing
I did not buy the vintage two-frogs-holding-hands-and-dancing candlestick holder I saw on fb marketplace like a month ago and I am 100% regretting it.
There isnβt any AI art. AI canβt make it. A machine has no thought or feeling to share. There is no emotional or intellectual distance to bridge because nothing exists on the other side of the visual.
An AI image is the hole where someone has abdicated their imagination.

Whatever happens, never forget: READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. So always make time to share books with kids, and help them find books to love. Make reading central to everything you do. It will change their lives forever!

I miss feeling hope.
