Last time I was in Oregon you weren’t allowed to pump your own gas and it was weird.

My car isn’t fancy it’s just a damn VW. But it’s the peppier one so they recommend it. But I’m probably just going to start doing regular again this week.

Yeah. And yet we still subsidize the hell out of the stuff. Extremely frustrating that something that has so much profit associated with it is so heavily propped up by our taxes.

Same. But i don’t live in the urban core so I would still want an e bike or something. Still not far from bus route that connects to light rail which is nice.

Sorry for lack of alt text. Kirkland (Costco) gas premium unleaded $4.59 a gallon.

Yeah, CA and WA are usually tied for highest gas prices. It’s mainly because we have pretty high taxes on top of whatever in order to encourage people to not buy stupid gas guzzlers. I miss my MO gas prices from 1999. $0.79/ gallon and oil was $12/barrel. There were zero geologist jobs. LOL

They run forever! Great cars.

I’m driving to Oregon tomorrow. My car gets 35 mph on the highway (GTI, notably only 25-ish on the city). Thankfully, I can telework but have been thinking about getting a new car recently and leaning towards a hybrid but now almost think I should get an EV. Our electric is 85% hydropower.

It’s interesting to me that he is the only one! The House is much more representative of the country.

It is such a mess and expensive and for what? Would love freedom for Iranians but I don’t think it will work that way.

Hi Patty, no idea if it’s possible for you to help but I have a friend stuck in Dubai from Everett. Any advice other than the usual going through the State Department?

One was a B17 pilot who killed Nazis in 78 raids over Europe during WW2. The other one was a dentist who often did dental work for free for poor people in his small rural town. ☺️

What’s funny is engineers aren’t really the same way. They get excited about science but even they get tired of scientists. 🀣

04.03.2026 01:11 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

When someone says β€žScientists do not want you to knowβ€œ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.
