I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.

“Days later, DHS agents showed up at Jon’s door… The agents showed him a copy of the email and asked to see his side of the story. They didn’t know about the administrative subpoena but said they received orders to interview Jon by DHS headquarters in D.C.”

As I report in this piece, a trend is developing: Some warehouse owners have decided against selling to ICE, plainly because the backlash has persuaded them that it would make them pariahs

Peter Beinart: “The political scientists Stacie Goddard and Abraham L. Newman have dubbed Trump’s foreign policy ‘neoroyalism.’ It aims less to solve global problems, or even advance American national interests, than to enrich and empower Trump and his circle.”

Alex Pretti was described by the govt as approaching agents with a handgun when he was shot dead. But the video released since shows Pretti with his hands empty. Fmr. NYPD Lt. Porcher says in “no way, shape, or form,” does Pretti approach officers with any sort of threat.

Americans are not angry enough.
Now this regime claims Trump’s army can dispense with the 4th amendment and enter anyone’s home without a warrant. And suddenly draconian actions like this make sense. The instructions to explicitly violate our fundamental rights are coming from the top down.

In every single major escalation by this regime, they began w disfavored groups and sure enough, extended it to the mainstream.
It began with college activists, turned into an attack on all of academia.
A war on “illegals” transformed into a full blown assault on blue communities.
So now Trump’s army is being told they don’t need a warrant to enter the most private and intimate of spaces, a person’s home. Fourth Amendment be damned. Big Brother isn’t knocking at your door, he’s in your living room.
We don’t even have the *illusion* or pretense of a democracy anymore.

While Trump dismisses the affordability crisis as a “hoax,” his antitrust enforcers are busy protecting accused corporate lawbreakers, including PepsiCo and RealPage.

Prepare for a desperate Trump to cling to Mamdani’s populist coattails. Like a bad car wreck you can’t turn away from.
Trump just wants to be like the cool kids. 🤳🏽
I’m watching an auntie on the subway scroll through mamdani posts with a polite little smile on her face.

FYI the owner of Mokafe helped lead a citywide boycott of the New York post in 2019 over its Islamophobic coverage.
We are full circle.

My reason is simple: I no longer can bear to be restrained by what judges can say publicly or do outside the courtroom.“
