News headlines don't reiterate when there's a mass shooting by a "straight cisgender man;" so why should it be emphasized as nauseum when it's a trans person? That kind of rhetoric hurts the queer and trans communities, who are notably statistically NOT the violent ones nor mass murderers.

This morning, I cried because @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social DIDN'T turn the #TumblerRidge shooting into a trans issue, instead choosing to focus on the fact that this was a devastating situation for the kids, families, and community involved.

Yesterday morning, I cried discovering the identities of the shooter and the 10 dead.

Two mornings ago I cried getting ready for work, hearing about the tragedy of the Tumbler Ridge shooting - one of the worst in Canadian history.
