Keep being you, our voices are needed now, more than in recent years. If you are ever in Wrexham for a game, give me a shout, you’ll be made most welcome.
We have to keep shouting, and fighting, which isn’t easy in an ever more intolerant world.
Today we see Saudi Arabia has been awarded a World Cup by FIFA so soon after Qatar.
It was easier for me to attend the Qatar World Cup being a white CIS male, but I know friends who didn’t go due to fear.
We’d done it in previous seasons as well and was something I was immensely proud of coordinating at the time.
Here is a link to Sky Sports who wrote about the clubs winning it the football v homophobia award and what we were doing at the time to promote inclusivity for everyone in the Wxm family.
We have tried over the years to make Wrexham AFC as inclusive as possible and at recent games we had our rainbow corner flags on display.
You may remember our first game after the take over by R&R was our dedicated football v homophobia game. The team played with Rainbow numbers on their backs.
Villa under 21’s to get through at Blackpool and draw them away and play at Villa Park 🤣
