Lieutenant Colonel Charity Adamβs (1918-2002). First African-American woman become an officer in the Womenβs Army Auxiliary Corps. Her work as the commanding officer of the 6888th in WWII is the subject of the excellent historical novel, Sisters in Arms by Kaia Anderson. #BlackHistoryMonth
