Could not agree more. So terribly sad that seems so far off from our reality!
I dont want a president who wakes up thinking of renovating Alcatraz, or building a rash of concentration camps, or sending innocent people to torture prisons in foreign lands.
I want a president who thinks of people everywhere with compassion and who aims to better their lives.

And McDonald's CEO recently raked in $18.2M — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Authoritarianism is rising because our democracy was failing before Trump.
When pro-democracy forces take back power, we can’t just restore the status quo. We need to change a political system that gives oligarchs a veto over working people.
We need a new democracy.
Trump’s State of the Union speeches are long, rambling, full of lies and pretty damn dull.. just a few of the reasons that I won't be watching. I'll catch the low-lights later.
Tonight’s state of the union.
People don't want data centers polluting their cities.
They don't want masked thugs terrorizing their neighbors.
They don't want warehouses being turned into ICE prisons.
They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home.
They want their basic needs met.
The ICE surge in Minnesota cost $280M to detain 4k people. Of those- only 30 were accused of violent crimes.
$9 million per capture of the "worst of the worst".
