Happy Release Day, Lori!!!!!!!!
My top two #mswl wishlist items for 2026 are:
- an exciting adult mystery or thriller with something to say. Something that feels like Alyssa Cole's WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING or @kellyekell.bsky.social's MISSING WHITE WOMAN
- mg or ya set in Appalachia by someone from there. Especially with π³οΈβπ or βΏοΈ rep
π
Happy Release Day Tracy!!!

Canβt wait to get my copy!β
Cover of WITHOUT CONSENT A LANDMARK TRIAL AND THE DECADES-LONG STRUGGLE TO MAKE SPOUSAL RAPE A CRIME By SARAH WEINMAN AUTHOR OF THE REAL LOLITA AND SCOUNDREL
Late last night, @sarahweinman.com 's new book Without Consent popped up on my book machine and I haven't been able to put it down. All her books are amazing, but this one is required fucking reading in our current era when women's bodily autonomy is under renewed assault.
I interrupt today's scheduled doomscrolling to offer a book lover's delight: a panel of avid readers share #mystery recces!
I include books by @sherrythomas.com @kellyekell.bsky.social @tracyc1.bsky.social @alexsegura.bsky.social @blacktopkid.bsky.social & more π€
Enjoy!

Yay! #BlackBookBash is this weekend. I'll be taking part in the Don't Go In There! crime fiction track talking all things suspense with the @wandamowrites.bsky.social & Sierra Tribble on Friday at 11.
If you're in the Jacksonville area, definitely consider coming: iamcaseyrkelley.com/pages/b3-home
looking forward to seeing you in person!
I'll be there representing with my fellow crime fiction ladies!
After insisting on being the sole corporate sponsor for the 3 day Black Book Bash literary festival in Jacksonville, FL, Publix yanked all support only *one week* before the event, citing the βvolatile climateβ as their reason π€¬

Publix offered to be the exclusive sponsor of the black book bash in Jacksonville. On Monday they rescinded that offer. Yβall, if that ainβt sabotage, i donβt know what is. You can support the Black Book Bash here iamcaseyrkelley.com/products/sup...
Amazing talent.
I didn't win but thank you!

My second time at #Bouchercon, but my first time in #NewOrleans. Had a great time! @deliapitts50.bsky.social @yasminangoe.bsky.social @kellyekell.bsky.social #writingcommunity
My most important pro tip about surviving publishing: Have a sense of humor.
It has been instrumental in me surviving nine years, four books, two publishers...and still wanting to do this crap.
Is that the same as the Rose reading room? It's absolutely gorgeous but freezing. Next time I'm bringing a sweatshirt.
Started a scary but exciting new journey last week where I am betting on myself and writing full time for six months. Still trying to figure the work schedule out (thanks @vmburnsbooks.bsky.social for the hand holding) but this is todayβs office.
thank you!!!!!! i also love that my book made it to bulgaria and serbia!
The NYPD officer killed by the active shooter was an immigrant from Bangladesh. He had 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. The US State Dept travel advisory for Bangladesh is level 3; βReconsider Travelβ for violence, crime and terrorism. He died here, for us, shot with a Colt M4 rifle. Think about that.
A promotional banner with the Disability Pride Month logo featuring a grey background and a rainbow stripe of red, yellow, white, blue, and green and the words Authors for Disability Pride.
July is Disability Pride Month, and we didn't want to end the month without celebrating indie authors with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
Here we have FIFTY (!) SFF books for you to choose from and support! There's something for everyone.
