Trading for Robert is such low risk it's awesome. If he's bad you don't pick up the '27 option and you have Benge/Ewing in house moving forward.

Let's grab a SP and get this season going! Let's Go Mets!
I didn't turn of McNeil like most Mets fans but I do understand turning the page. Wish him the best in Sacramento. Curious to see what this Outfield/DH situation will look come spring training
Nolan McLean vs Juan Soto in the WBC would be a lot fun.
Why are some people acting like players don't age? Especially ones in their 30s already. It would genuinely shocking if Nimmo,Diaz, or Alonso had their best or even second best seasons on their new teams.
Jorge Polanco is a good add. plus power, plus swing decisions, and plus contact especially last year. If he can keep the contact rates high this should be an awesome add. Good switch hitter with not at alot of term.
Mets twitter got a little too WFAN for me this week. I understand being sad about Edwin and Pete going elsewhere I feel the same. Yet without the context of the whole rest of the off season I just don't understand the sky is falling mentality.
The Edwin Diaz recency bias is insane. He's a great pitcher and I'll miss him on the Mets but not deserving of the crash out that's happening in the fandom
Ok winter meetings have started lets get some baseball moves...
I agree. I like the risk of Williams for 50 mill more so than Diaz for 100. In general feels like the infrastructure of the farm system is starting to get there where Mets can rely on homegrown talent for bullpen help too. So many SP prospects some will not work in that role and may be good RP
I love the Devin Williams move for the Mets. I'd love to have Edwin back but I think too many fans are too attached here. This is a 32 year old reliever who has had velocity decline. He's awesome but giving him the bag is a massive risk and many act like it's not #Mets
Sean Manaea probably had some good luck in '24 but he also had bad luck in '25. He had an elite 24% K-BB this year and babip against was 30 points higher than his career. All while hurt I believe in him having a bounce back '26
I don't feel like it happens in 2026 but I would be intrigued by the idea of Mets moving Soto to 1B and resigning Pete for DH. Allows Benge to be your RF when he comes up. They need to make defense more of a priority.
The Mets season was extremely disappointing but I'm going to miss watching them every night. Can't wait for spring training.
That front door sinker from McLean to strikeout Harper was silly
Clay Holmes has good velocity tonight. #Mets
Dedniel Nunez!!! 2024 quality Nunez could be huge for this team #Mets
At least Montas is throwing hard to start. #Mets
I wonder if Tidwell ends up being the next Megill for the Mets. High stuff low command 4-6 starter in the rotation #Mets
Pulled Fly Ball McNeil 😍😍 #Mets
The Mets have so many good players right now it's incredible to watch. Never thought I'd see the day #Mets
Almost 30% pulled fly ball rate for Jeff McNeil. Pair that with a low 9.7% K Rate and he's absolutely cooking right now. #Mets
Holmes just spammed the sinker in that inning... And it worked #Mets
Who needs Aaron Judge for "protection" when you have Pete Alonso!! #Mets
Notice the speed difference between Taylor and McNeil on that play in Center #Mets
From down to 0-2 to 3-2 to oppo blast for his second of the game. Juan Soto is locked in!! #Mets
THE NEW YORK METS WIN!!
Baty vs Acuña vs McNeil for 2nd base reps remainder of the year will be very interesting. McNeil will play but they have some interesting backups if he struggles again this year #Mets
I think if Lindor can hover around .900 OPS he will have a shot at winning the MVP. #Mets
Bad timing on this post lol but still he's good
