I liked the ending, but we skipped a good chunk of the story and focused only on what was most interesting/teachable

I'm struggling to find hope in this world, so I volunteered at my local SPCA.

In these dark times, I encourage you to gravitate towards hope and joy in everything you do.

I fear this world will swallow up hopefull people and spit them out. I'm trying to stop that from happening to me.

Thank you for your recommendations. I need to check out more of Orwell's essays. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of that mindset/lifestyle, though I'll likely include that kind of socialist in my next comic as an example.

I feel the same. I don't know what I'd do without my friends. Well, I do know, which is why I'm so thankful they're in my life. Glad you have people in your life who bring you joy and safety, Shadow!

But I am also interested in socialist revolutions, so I've been studying a lot of history from a Marxist perspective.

DEFINITELY proper Marxism as Marx intended, which I'm definitely open to talking/learning more about.
