I can finally breathe again.

Despite my rant on this 1 track, it stems from feeling like 95% of Bangtan’s discography (group/solo) is iconic. They are still the best. So, instead of dwelling on this, I’ll continue to stream and support on the daily as usual but with one less song added in rotation. Hobi is s-tier regardless 🔥

Yes! I get not needing a masterpiece or my preference. I think the aggravation comes from lost opportunity to make something more interesting in a way I know all artists have shown before. Cole & Megan were the opposite. Those were simple tracks, fun or chill, but inimitable to them all, lyrically

I’m a casual Glo fan and I know she can drop impressive or clever verses. So why does this thing sometimes happen where it feels like there’s a distance in accessibility, execution, & writing? Sure it’s a fun pop track/rare. But we’ve had lighthearted bangers and collabs that felt more true to them.

Like, is there a single Army that exists that doesn’t like the watered down collabs, musically? Snoop for example felt like he was told “there’s a k-pop group and they’re big” and he just went in blind and with zero regard for their skill as artists. The result was so generic it felt insulting.

This is what I felt when “PTD”, the Benny Blanco collab, and a few other collabs dropped. Maybe my fault for putting this higher expectation music-wise on members because we know what they’re capable of. But safe(?) tracks like this in particular are why I don’t listen to k-pop/top 40 in general.

Hobi is hot, yes. Cinematography, yes. The dancing is on point. I just really don’t like the track. I wish I did, truly. But after “Mona Lisa”, it feels like leftover lyrics from it or something. And it’s obvious I love and support BTS and every member’s works, but… I really wish I loved it. 😔

I feel this so hard. Something happened after the hope tour where i just…imploded into nothing lol and I haven’t written for a long time either. Just disassociate and work and go youtube rabbit holes. I hope you can pull yourself out, though. This ain’t it. 😩

“Mona Lisa” is so slick. Are we surprised? (No) Hobi’s voice is so smooth, I got swept up and still don’t think I’ve stopped flying since the song ended. And of course, I’ll be listening to this song a billion times since these men keep dropping hits like loose clean change. also, the grill? 😩🤤
