You know, there’s a metaphor here about not respecting the people who live in the places you’re thoughtlessly trampling through with nothing but your own sense of aggrieved entitlement to guide you.

That's the end for this week. For previous tracklists, have a look at the I CanCon 2026 archive playlist:
10/10
Since starting this playlist, I've come across absolute stalwarts of the music scene that I assumed were universal, because I figured they were American. Then I find out they're Canadian, and I realize they're probably only stalwarts here.
"My Girl" is one of those; foundational.
9/10
"Crabbuckit" is great. Funky, upbeat, vibe-y. And, look, K-OS's flow is unreal.
8/10
This week's Self-Indulgent Seventh is "Sucks To Be You."
Prozzak aren't, you know, good in the sense of being sophisticated or complex. But they're catchy as hell, and they were everywhere at the time.
This is a real nostalgia trip for Canadian Millennials of a certain age.
7/10
"Yawning or Snarling" is a bit of a deep cut for The Hip. Dark and enigmatic, this is one of Gord's tone poems. Really listen to the lyrics on this - there are some extremely poetic turns of phrase. Let it evoke a scene for you.
6/10
Apple Music lists "If It Happens" as punk, which if true, means I *really* have no idea what punk is. To me, this is more of a new wave-y/post-rock kind of thing.
Cheerfully depressing, if anything.
5/10
Liner Notes:
The Guess Who are rock royalty in Canada. "No Sugar Tonight" is one of their biggest hits, probably only eclipsed by "American Woman." A chill, classic vibe.

Due to ambiguity of the notation, it’s either 1 or 9.
The point is that it’s badly written, to troll and cause argument.
What's really going to bake your noodle is when you write the exact same Bluesky thread in six months.
Sooo... but why?
My family is from the Maritimes - Canada’s New England, with a lot of cross-culture.
There is a reason folklorists love the place. The whole region is blanketed three feet deep with superstition.

Chili is a Bolognese sauce.
Gonna get to the point that authors only read hand-illuminated parchments delivered by falcon. LLMs can’t do that.
I wanted to answer, but then I thought "Dix would tell me not to."
Good job!
Pizza place that makes you select a type of pizza (Canadian, meat-lovers, whatever) and then still requires you to add all the toppings manually in a way that matches the toppings in the description.
I half suspect it’s a pepperoni-based CAPTCHA.
I stopped in at Canada Computers after work yesterday to pick up a USB cable. Glanced at the wall of RAM behind the counter.
Is it bad that one of the two DIMM kits (didn’t catch if it was 16, 32, or 64 GB) was over *$1500* CAD?
I had assumed it was a mock-up and that this was all rumour. I guess people thought otherwise? I don’t think that’s the same as slop, though - it’s leaks and conjecture.
The reporting I read was clear that’s what this is.
Is it? I saw it reported at several outlets. Slop with reach suuuucks.
I've been following Will Smith's (not that one) podcast about switching to Linux. I've got a PC in the next room to build, and I'll be dual-booting based on what I've learned.

Hey, last night I quote-boosted/reskeeted/deblooped my Death Generator post with a statement about "the other generator being AI". I meant the pixelframe.design generators, the Pokopia title font, Mario Galaxy title font, and so on.
I was wrong on that claim: they're not AI.
Jealous.
You're not wrong - I should go back and listen to them. It's been *quite* a while.
We're done! Finished! If you'd like previous weeks' tracks, check out the I CanCon 2026 archive playlist:

Rounding out the playlist this week is a Barenaked Ladies track that *isn't* "If I Had $1000000" or "One Week." Novel!
