Yes, freestyle is crawling. We may have learned basics of breaststroke but I know I had to learn ‘proper’ breaststroke (competitive where you won’t get disqualified) separately. I learned at the same pool that had the swim team so we may have learned things differently

In the US it probably depends where you learn, I think I learned freestyle first? I was on the swim team as a kid and I know everyone could do free and backstroke but I had to learn breastroke and butterfly separately
