A rich vein of Folk Horror ran all the way through WORZEL GUMMIDGE (1979). And one of its most horrific characters was Worzel's own creation: Dafthead!
It's pure 90's low budget greatness.

My auntie's house in the 70's, Gwendoline St, Liverpool.
She painted it herself with help from my uncle & dad.
It was known locally as the 'flower power house'. She also set up a boutique from inside the house which was famous globally. 🌸🌼
Penny for the Guy
My grandad died on 5th Nov 1979, 2 weeks before I was born. He was an immigrant from Bengal and came to the UK after serving in the Merchant Navy.
He set up a lot of businesses & became a well respected member of the Toxteth community. 🖤

A vault burial in St Patrick's Church, Liverpool.
Sadly didn't get to peek inside but just standing outside Peter Roberts vault felt eerie enough. He died in 1828.
Probably my fave name I've come across on a gravestone - Horatio Ruffley Roberts.
It even has a little carving of him, which is just so charming.
