Trump has imposed tariffs using emergency measures—designed for things like an oil embargo amidst a war—despite the undeniable fact that no emergency exists.
As @stevebenen.com and @gregsargent.bsky.social explain, Trump using them for non-economic, non-emergency goals is evident in his statements.
ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.
Kyle Rittenhouse did so, killed 2 people, wounded 1 person, & is ALIVE.
The fact that #AlexPretti is a dead villainized victim and Kyle Rittenhouse is an alive vigilante hero makes clear the 2nd Amendment is often treated as a right only for those on the right.
We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.
There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

It’s not completely clear to me what cognitive condition Trump is suffering from…but whatever it is, it’s getting much worse.
