So we are closing on our house sometime over the next three weeks. They can't give us a lot of notice or plan the closing date in advance for some reason so basically they'll be like, "we're closing in 2 days" and we have to hightail it up to NY real fast or get fined for every late day. Love it.

Jade has a laser appointment today so suggested ordering in and playing Diablo all weekend. I def picked the right one. They know my love language.

My local politics is so crazy right now. Raucous county council meeting with hundreds opposing a new AI data center. Our leaders have a habit of bringing in new business for fees in lieu of taxes and the infrastructure is not keeping up. Citizens are starting to get mad.

Boss gave me a "find a ghost" project today so I get to spend all day tracking down someone with probably zero online presence that may or may not be still alive and may or may not be in posession of their family's locally important historical artifacts. Fun!

We haven't had snow in this area in 4 years and now we have an ice storm that won't melt because for some reason it's stayed unusually cold and now Fri/Sat we're getting another 8 inches of snow that everyone seems way confident about. Kids are still out of school bc they can't run the buses. Crazy.

ugh, I really don't want to be stuck in the house for another weekend but they're calling for MORE snow Friday night/Saturday. We JUST came back to work today from all the shit on Saturday/Sunday last weekend.

We’ve been running around getting more gas, checking the generator and picking up prescriptions so I just saw the news from MN. I wish I could do more than just say FUCK ICE right now. My heart is in Minneapolis.

Already popped over to Waffle House this morning for a last meal out before the weather moves in. Left them a very nice tip because I know they're going to be expected to try to work through this mess. We shouldn't really see much today until evening. Charging, washing blankets, etc today.
