The casevac operation was conducted in marginal weather from the Zuluk helipad, which is at an elevation of approximately 9000 feet.

Having received the information at 1115H, that a bus carrying personnel of SSB had met with an accident, the IAF launched two Cheetah helicopters from Bagdogra airbase in less than an hour. One Mi-17V5 helicopter was also launched from the same base. (2/3)

On 20 Dec 24, in a well coordinated casevac operation, IAF & Indian Army Helicopters evacuated a total of Ten passengers of Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB) from Zuluk, near Gangtok, to Military Hospitals (MH), Gangtok and Bengdubi. (1/3)

Indian Air Force Cycling Team Crowned National Champions

The Air Force Cycling Team, representing the Services, achieved a remarkable victory at the 29th National Road Cycling Championship held in Puri, Odisha, from 07 to 10 December 2024. (1/3)

The troops targeted the Poongli bridge on the Jamalpur-Tangail road. This monumental operation showcased Joint planning by military leadership and seamless coordination and camaraderie between the services.

The operation itself was meticulously planned. A Pathfinder force, to mark the DZ, preceded the main drop, while a dummy drop 16 km away misled enemy forces. The drop was carried out in broad daylight from 1600 to 1630 h. (5/6)

A fleet of 6 An-12s, 20 Packets, and 22 Dakotas paradropped a 800-strong battalion group at Tangail, including equipment like 12 jeeps. This force was among the first Indian troops to enter Dhaka, paving the way for victory. (2/6)

In collaboration with Centre of Air Power Studies, the Air Force Technical College, Bengaluru, hosted a seminar on 'Air Power & Training for Future Wars'.

Subject matter experts discussed advanced training, air superiority, and emerging tech to prepare IAF for future challenges.

The CAS complimented HQ WAC for maintaining high operational excellence to ensure an 'always ready' formidable fighting force as well as being the first responders for HADR, both within India & abroad.
