Hi Bob. For 26 years and counting, I have been following a route to work on my bicycle which is 4 miles longer than it needs to be in both directions because there's literally zero provision for cyclists on the shorter route and it's occupied by impatient, useless drivers.

Hope this helps.

I come to our tea room to rest. Listening to my colleague’s internal monologue on everything from her GP appointment to the washing on her line is driving me scatty.

It took me 33 mins to get to work yesterday. Today I left an hour earlier and it took 22 mins. The only difference was the volume of car traffic. It’s completely false to say that cyclists slow traffic down. It’s the cars that do that.

Maybe the phrase “couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery” could be replaced with “couldn’t turn a profit in a casino”.

My dad retired after paying income tax for 53 years.

He was discharged from hospital two days ago due to a lack of beds, despite being gravely ill.

Yet, we’re now paying for the defence of Middle Eastern dictatorships and Dubai tax-exiles’ flights back to Britain.

Grotesque.

The fact that the 20th century normalised littering public areas with parked cars is amazing. So much space taken up with metal heaps that often stay put for days.

What did they threaten him with? He looked terrified.

We need people in power who do the right thing. I’m so glad I stopped voting Labour or I’d feel complicit.

After all the fuss about our LTN, all the usual arguments and counter-arguments, the one benefit I was not expected was: sleep.

Previously we had constant night time disturbance from young men in their farty exhaust cars visiting local night clubs, blatting around the neighbourhood.

All gone.

TRAM TRACKS, CYCLISTS & CRASHES:

About two-thirds of Sheffield's tram network is on-road, with a lot of cycle crashes as a result.

In search of information regarding solutions to this that have been or are being trialled or implemented elsewhere.

Grateful for retweets to extend reach.

Cricket is, by far, the best spectator sport. It's basically just a beer garden with sport happening somewhere in the background. Watch, don't watch, have a stroll around, eat, talk, it doesn't matter. A brilliant day out.

No! I won't sign for this! I don't want the NHS funds to pay for parking! Will you ask for free bus services too or just care about those who drive?

This isn’t some anonymous tip. This is sworn testimony, under penalty of perjury, from someone who said Trump threatened to kill her if she exposed Epstein’s sexual abuse.

She should never be given a licence again. People don’t regain a firearm licence if they kill someone. So what if she’ll have to cycle, walk, or take a bus? Plenty have to live that way due to finances, health, or just rejecting the risks of driving, so why shouldn’t she manage?

Why do drivers bang on about cyclists wearing hi viz and helmets when they can't even avoid poles that have lights on them? If they can knock over a metal pole then a helmet won't do much.

In the tea room at work today.

Colleague: Why can’t I drive to work without there being roadworks?

Me: Because they need to repair the damage that people driving to work do to the roads.

Silence.

Oops. 🤷‍♀️

“Cyclists follow one way system. Be aware of pedestrians”

A similar sign caught my eye when trying to navigate out of our hospital grounds. Cyclists are directed through a car park and are asked to look out for pedestrians, presumably walking to their cars. No signs for the car drivers to watch for other pedestrians or cyclists.

60% of women limit how much they cycle due to safety concerns.🚲

Too often women must choose between busy roads with little protection or quieter routes with poor lighting. Both are unsafe.

I’m calling on the Government to build the infrastructure needed to make women feel safe on our roads.

This has come to my attention. It’s my partner when he was in his 20’s. I still don’t trust him near a skateboard.
