Dear students:
Picture yourself in a meeting at your future job.
Everyone is gathered around a table, talking about a new design that your company needs to make and the head of the division asks for input.
And phones were left at the door.
Will you be able to contribute to the conversation?
So many interesting side discussions, much after the designated hours and mandatory curriculum was covered.
Fun stuff!
I also learned the F35 Chief Test Pilots have always been RCAF pilots, on second one now, even though it's an American built aircraft.
I also learned the instructor is onboard NATO to build the administrative and training curriculum for bringing RPAs into the military ecosystem, ramping up quickly.
First 3 hours of 20 hours of mandatory ground school was INTENSE, with a flair of no nonsense matter-of-fact delivery.
I sensed a regimental military discipline 😁
But some of the fun stuff, for example, was learning a portion of "wingmen" of F35 pilots are drones controlled from the F35 cockpit.
Yup. All true. I was that student.
AND… I lost my hearing because I contracted measles/mumps before vaccines were available

He has 21+ years experience with the RCAF on CF-18, Hawk, CT-114, and T-6 aircraft. He also spent 5 years contracting with the QEAF and RSAF. With more than 20 years of instructional experience, He specializes in the coordination and integration of Military RPAS operations.
Onward and upward!

This morning I am beginning the next phase to further my own learning to eventually attain the highest rung on the RPAS industry ladder; a Level 1 Complex licence with a Flight Reviewer endorsement.
My instructor is a retied RCAF Fighter pilot. It should be an exceptional learning experience.

About a week ago I became a qualified and designated Transport Canada Advanced Operations Flight Reviewer. I can now perform the in-person portion practical exam for a candidate seeking their own RPAS Advanced Operations licence, after they pass the Transport Canada written exam.

Once in a while you can get shot down and still have a good time. Both can be true.

Idle thought of the day ... what if the earth's geothermal reservoir is acting like a hot air balloon for the earth and if we tap it out by poking holes into it, everywhere, the planet will leave its orbit and crash us into the sun ... ☕️
The price for which clean fill is purchased versus what it's sold for generates a slushfund siphoning stream. The stockpiles at the source are under-measured before contract is signed to haul it away, then sold for the actual weight.
Someone gets to pocket the difference through magical accounting.

I'm confused ... so if they were all couched by the same PR person or people then it was probably a referral by JD?

If you're having difficulty getting up to do anything it's because the gravitational pull is three times that of the world that came before it.

ChatGPT lied to a man 50+ times when he asked if it was telling the truth. He lost his grip on reality. He's now suing OpenAI. Are we paying enough attention to this?
This is an extraordinary article, and not for good reasons.
It's a long article but very important read if you dabble in AI.

I know why it happens, but I’m so tired of Canadian broadcasts leaning on the “what does this mean to the price of oil” angle every time there’s a global catastrophe. Who got bombed today? What are the casualty numbers? Who is in danger and who is safe? The oil angle is just lazy.
It was a beautiful day for a 40 kilometre bike ride
