This week, Discord will begin enforcing E2EE on non-stage voice and video calls across desktop, mobile, web, and consoles. Took a few years to solve the edge cases and wait out deprecation times for older clients, but we're here. Really proud of the team today!

I've revamped context menu commands on Discord! commands are now organized by app, your frequently used commands are at the top, and a new search bar helps you quickly find commands. with this update, I also increased the command limit from 5 to 15!

as the article states, the Persona experiment has ended and Discord is not using it currently.

we live in this weird trifecta:
- at no time before has it been easier to research and validate a claim, rumor, etc
- at no time before has it been easier to spin up a fake claim, rumor, etc (and people know this)
- most people still believe the fake claim or rumor without attempting to validate

hmm you should be able to just turn off the @-everyone permissions in role settings server-wide and that should do the job, you shouldn't need to edit each channel. is there anything particular that was a lot of work?

Three interaction modals in Discord. The first one is for Class Selection and shows radio buttons asking you to pick an in-game character class. The second shows checkboxes for which days you are free to study. The third has a "Do you like me?" checkbox.

I've added more components to bot modals on Discord! you can now use radio buttons and checkboxes for cleaner UI.

it's wild how many people will believe and assume conspiracy theories. especially for things that can be verified

it really sucks when some countries pass restrictive laws that end up making the internet worse for everyone

oh some invite endpoints had on outage on Thursday which caused incorrect 429 responses, so if you access invite endpoints a lot, that might have caused an issue at that time

additionally, if your bot token is getting reset, you should have gotten a system dm with details, but that happens if you connect to the gateway 1000 times in a day which also means there is an issue you need to fix.
