The case underscores how Trump-era opposition to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts has spread north to Canada. But more than a snow-covered battlefield in the culture war, the suit raises important questions about when public speech in a democratic society is political.
Someone should explain to the @nytimes.com that Vancouver does not share the same climate as Calgary or Ottawa.
Working on it! I'm just slow...
Looks fun!

Postdoctoral positions: Our team at the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public is accepting applications for up to two postdoc positions, starting in Fall 2026. Priority deadline is Jan 15. If you know someone who might be interested, let them know!
Also, I should mention that I'm assigning your sorting hat paper in a first year seminar this term. Lots of them are living in dorms, so it should be a fun thing to discuss.
Yep. If you argue for giving a subset of tenured faculty leave to regularly make arguments that they donβt believe in a public forum, you make the case that law schools donβt belong in universities.

Fun paper. I do love it when people describe their research setting as "a large public university" and both authors work for.....the same large public university.

Second day in a row I saw a person with Browns paraphernalia at the gym. In Toronto! I asked the second guy if he was from Cleveland, but no, just a Shadeur fan. This world is weird.
