A quilt square in progress showing a partially pieced red calico and (hard to see it here, but it’s not quite) white courthouse steps pattern on top of a cutting mat and quilt ruler, with rotary cutter, snips, and fabric pieces in the background.
I started my 250th Birthday quilt today!
A word of warning: my first degree was American history.

The word “EH” partially cross stitched in blue thread in the middle of a large hoop on an oatmeal colored cloth. The needle minder is a chicken decorated with folk art
Not complete but maybe could be?
Starting a new side project because I’m waiting for transfer paper that actually works to arrive for my main project.

Happy to share the pattern if anyone else is feeling partial to the word
Small embroidery with the word “ENOUGH” and a floral motif border of red carnations with blue leaves
Completed, still had

So far it’s looking like the Word of the Year for me. Maybe a lot of us.
I’m loving this series!
A small cross-stitch project in progress. Red and blue floral motifs surround the word “enough” on a white background

Multiple piles of 5 inch squares of fabric prepared to be assembled in the next step
I cut up fabric to sew back together. Trying to take small steps when I can.
5 inch and 9 1/2 inch fabric squares lie on a cutting mat with a picture of a quilt. The squares look pretty even!
Because Danger is my middle name, I cut up a layer cake on four hours of sleep. I think they are square and the right size but I’m sure I’ll found otherwise in the next few days.
Excited to try this fabric and pattern!

Let me know when you do finish it, I’d love to see it!
Go for it! This quilt took me two years. Quilting on my machine was also really hard. The tension is all over the place. I suspect it’s a combination of not enough practice and not quite the right tool for the job. But now I will be able to finish a second one - with more experience :)
Thank you!
An embroidered initial G and heart on a white muslin square pinned to the back of a quilt with orange backing
Finishing my first quilt today! And wow am I having feelings about the quilting. My head knows the first attempt at anything is usually…suboptimal. And that’s okay! It’s how it’s supposed to be. My eye wishes for straighter lines but my heart is happy that it’s almost done!

Two rectangular cloths of the same size, being the front and back of the needle case. One cloth has a multicolored cross stitched pattern of a band sampler including diamonds, hearts, and wavy lines. The other is a backstitched quote attributed to Arthur Ashe, saying “start where you are, use what you have, do what you can” and a signature by the stitcher with the year 2025 stitched in. Because signing your work is important.
Been working on this Needle Case from Jo Verso’s Complete Cross Stitch Course. But I needed more color and inspiration than what the pattern called for.
Needles are mighty, y’all. Give yours a good home and put it to good use.

@muellershewrote.com Mainah here. We’re excited about the Dem senate primary! But I’ll tell you why I like Mills: remember back in February at the Gov’s conference when she stood up to Trump right to his face? “See you in court,” she said. And she’s been doing it ever since.
Have you ever been told again and again that you’re wrong? Or been asked to provide examples at every turn? It’s exhausting. And insulting. The truth is the truth, but that doesn’t mean that many others (in power and otherwise) won’t try to tell you the truth is different and that’s a lot to take
Librarians are some of the most knowledgeable people I know. To a one, I get better than expected answers to my questions - and with such patience! Also the amount of community organization that is basically required on the job- it’s frankly wild that a masters degree is all you need. Thank you.
Thank you! I’ll be trying it!
Thank you, and thanks for what you do!
A cross-stitch project in progress of chartreuse thread on a dark blue background. The finished piece will read « I read banned books » in a very old-fashioned cross-stitch font. I’m still deciding if I will anything other than he lettering.

You can still reach back out to them. Maybe timing won’t be right but it’s worth a try. And just be honest that you’re oblivious to it. Most appreciate it. One tip: be generous. Give compliments, suggest connections, offer time to listen or help. Keep boundaries of course, but givers have friends.
A Bluesky feed showing a headline of RFK Jr pulling $500 million in funding for vaccine development immediately followed by a post for the book Science Under Siege.
You’re welcome to this marketing material that is my Bluesky feed, if you don’t mind it being a little on the nose.

I love this. Both the pattern and the attitude you bring to it.
Also does not include the EPA

Cross stitch in progress of yellow and orange nuclear blast on a blue background
Slow and steady WIP. In addition to all of this *gestures wildly*, our family has faced loss, diagnoses, and new realities in the past month.
Seriously considering designing a phoenix pattern. It would be my first.
