I saw The Day After Tomorrow while on a trip to Nova Scotia. There's a point in the movie when they mention Nova Scotia has been wiped out by the ice, and the theatre cheered.

The Restless Republic, by Anna Keay. It's about the period in the 17th century when England was a republic, from the execution of Charles I, through the rule of Oliver Cromwell and his son, to the restoration of the monarchy. Told through the stories of different people and perspectives. So good!

Many grant applications have maximum character counts, which include spaces and punctuation. It's amazing to me how many people who write grants still use two spaces after sentences. You're sacrificing part of your proposal!

The Ohio State Fair has a devilled egg stand where you could buy a flight of eggs in different flavors. I haven't been in years, but I think the flavors last year were macaroni & cheese, buffalo chicken, dill pickle, and a few others. I seem to remember there was even a sweet one? (Yuck.)
