Now with a closer look at the concept art that I made ;)
I am very happy and proud I could be part of the process and hope I can contribute a little more in the future in similar productions ^^

As the time to talk #SurvivingEarth nears, I wanted to say that Iβm extremely proud to have been part of the amazing team who worked on it
I was commissioned by Tim Haines (producer of Walking with Dinosaurs) and his team, to create the concept art for MANY animals for this project!

Well, I can deny it no longer
I did a little work for Surviving Earth ;)

A digital portrait of Pendraig, a small bipedal dinosaur, shown with a long reptilian snout and covering of coarse, filaments on its neck.
Happy St Davidβs Day from a very, very old dragon. Pendraig milnerae, a 200 million year old dinosaur, was discovered in what is now the south of Wales.
When there is Spinosaurus news, there's always going to be a Spinosaurus sketch from me soon after.
The timing works out perfectly, because I have been wanting to start another Spinosaurus illustration. I love my murder herons.
A woman carries a large tub of berries to make jam as an amargasaurus squishes them with its back foot
βFreshly made jam is a popular treat for all species and making large batches goes significantly faster when you have large friends to help.β

I had a few errands to run at London's Natural History Museum this morning. There is so much amazing stuff there I always notice and appreciate something new, so here's a thread on things I saw...

photo of a sketchbook page featuring some doodles of a more realistic nidoking. What this is not a photo of is that blokees nidoking figure who really thought this was about him. The ego on this guy is out of control.
Lil bro thought I was taking a photo of him π

Spring is almost hereβ¦even if itβs still cloudy and cold where I liveβ¦but thatβs not stopping me from drawing some bright, blooming scenery!
Greetings from Spinosaurus mirabilis!
An Eremotherium about to meet its fate in one of several massive eruptions from Ilopango's caldera during the pleistocene.
The Ilopango is one of the most dangerous super volcanoes in the world and it is still active.

Here the result of the Ein Yabrud quarry #paleostream. An important locality from the Cretaceous of Palestine. While mostly famous for it's marine snakes and early mosasauroids, beautiful fish fossils and rich invertebrate fauna are completing this picture!

A promotional image for my new art book βAb Antiquoβ - a collection of portraits of dinosaurs. The image features a small picture of the bookβs front cover, and behind it a large image of a dinosaurβs head.
Today, February 20th, is a significant date for ancient things.
On this day, in the mists of the distant past, I was born. And today Iβm launching a new book of portraits of even older creatures!
All the details are below. (1/2) #SciArt
In which I provide a few thoughts on the new Spinosaurus species, S. mirabilis.

I also stressed the deep connections between one of the study authors - Nathan Myhrvold - and Geoffrey Epstein to New Scientist. They didn't mention it, neither has anyone else.
If you want fossil "teeth" horror shows, you want Conodonts.
This somehow fit into a mouth, about 400 million years ago.
It's unclear, but something very much like this thing is probably ancestral to all vertebrates--this is our great-great-...-great grandma.

π¨New dinosaur! The latest salvo in the Spinosaurus saga.
A Spinosaurus looking like Elvis, with an outrageous bony head crest. Discovered in the Sahara by my undergrad mentor Paul Sereno & his team.
Super cool! But I'm sure nobody on the internet will care about it... π

Meet Spinosaurus mirabilis.
I got to see the material and skull reconstruction in the lab last year. Lots of people have been working hard on getting this described for quite some time and it's great to finally see it published.
New spinosaur!
Anywaysβ¦
If the paleo community is going to be serious about Hornerβs connection to Epstein, we also have to be serious about Myhrvoldβs, because guess who contributed photos of animals mating to Epsteinβs birthday book and has been appearing in new paleo papers this year - including the new Spinosaurus.
I know a certain spiny lizard is now back in the news but I hope you guys haven't forgotten about Haolong dongi.
Shoutout to this guy for showing us that dinosaur integument was weirder than we thought.
