A finished pair of red, orange and yellow striped hand knit socks are shown on top of a Socktober tracker. They are on a deck railing overlooking a lake with Autumnal reflections of the orange and yellow trees.
Halfway through Socktober and the gift knit pair is done (toes grafted, ends woven in, finished!) So now I get to start a new pair for the second half of the month...the @yarnfolk.com colorway matches the Autumnal reflection in the lake! π
I get to start my kite heel soon! (On Sock One, of courseβ¦)
(It will not be AI generated.)
I try to use AI judiciously, and in ethical ways. This was a good reminder of how things can slide off the rails.
(It's not as polished as I would have liked, but I recorded the voice over myself.)
I am, and always have been, a solo entrepreneur.
Toward the end, viewers were encouraged to stop by to meet Bruce, the shop cat.
There was no mention of a cat in the script, and although I am a certified cat enthusiast, there is no Bruce.
That said, Bruce merch is in the works.

I can't explain why I thought letting AI generate the voice over track was a good idea. Almost immediately, it started to veer wildly off script.
A couple of key moments: "Yarn Folk was started by two best friends in 2013!" While my spouse has been wildly supportive from the beginning,

A short story:
Saturday night, I was short on time, and thought I would use the AI tools built into CapCut Pro to help me sync my authentically recorded meda with a script that I provided.
I wish I'd had the presence of mind to download the result.

My solution is in the past, but I am team sleeves first whenever possible! I knit just a few rounds of the body after separation, then put that on hold and do the sleeves.
So obviously Iβm going to have to start a pair, tooβ¦

Interior view of a store in the process of being repainted. A ladder is in the foreground, a window is in the background, and there is a drop cloth with a can of paint on the floor.
π§Ά Nothing like a big painting project with a deadline! First floor will definitely be done before moving day; upstairs, hopefully before we open back up!
6/28 Last day open at 304 N Pearl St
6/29-7/6 Closed for moving
7/7 Soft reopen at 211 W Third Ave
7/12 Grand reopening at 211 W Third Ave
Two one gallon cans of Sherwin Williams paint are stacked on top of a five gallon bucket of the same. The bucket is grey with a red label, the smaller cans are red. They are sitting in a corner on a simulated wood vinyl floor, with another bucket to the right. The wall in the background is a yellow-y cream color.
We've got lots of pretty β¨sparklyβ¨ yarn from Polka Dot Sheep, new expansion decks from Pacific Knit Co., extended hours and bonus social stitching on Wednesday, a moving schedule, and more! π«

There are two stacks of wooden chairs with arms and purple seats, each three chairs tall.
The underside of a chair has two pieces of chewed gum stuck to it, one red, one yellow.
π§Ά All chairs are stackable if you really tryβ¦
In anticipation of having more social space in the Stitcher's Loft after we move to 211 W Third Ave at the end of the month, I bid on 6 chairs from CWU Campus Surplus (hence the gum). They are going to temporary storage at the new building tomorrow!
π§Ά Last day to turn in your #StitchEveryDayInMay trackers!! And holy smokes is moving day getting close! Reminder, weβll be closed 6/29 - 7/6 to pull it off!
