I would lock myself in the toilets whoever I could and scream silently into my hands just through the constant overwhelm that nothing I did, however hard I worked into the night, however hard I tried to be good and follow rules, ever was enough for anyone to ever see me as normal

I am so so so happy for neurodivergent kids who are getting support and empathy that they need these days

And that sits right next to quite UNBEARABLE GRIEF for my permanently terrified tiny younger self and the misery so many awful adults put me through

I am hearing that neurodivergent kids today can put special cards on their desks to silently indicate to the teacher that they are overwhelmed so the teacher can help

If I was even remotely upset I remember being thrown into a barrel and washed away down The Thames

I am quite flummoxed about Messi but there remains a non-zero possibility he simply has no idea who Trump is

Yes! I had NOT noticed that at all the first time round and this time I was like…. Are they all from the bad guys’ side but like, not in a reckoning with it way?

I rewatched Firefly recently as it was a reference point for something and….

It did not stand up to time

It belongs to an old world where we hadn’t started reckoning with absolutely anything. It was quite heart-breaking. We grew up.

Make something new by someone new

They were made to provide it by the Swiss govt & the Swiss govt gave it to the FBI. Proton didn’t β€œhelp” with anything and everything else remains encrypted and not handed over

Am thinking of switching to Proton & this is a disingenuous headline

- Proton seems to only have provided name associated with payment account payment, not any emails/other data
- this info is subject to law
- you can have a free proton account
- Proton supports anonymous payment eg crypto & cash

Yes exactly, you can’t take an app to Nuremberg. They’re literally pre-absolving themselves of war crimes

What the hell is going on with the whole cancel OpenAI because they want to commit war crimes thing while Anthropic is doing this

Clue: All Gen AI is bad

Just to be clear I’m not trying to be snobbish, it is an observation that TV shows are functionally following different structures, that lend themselves for second screening, purposefully.

05.03.2026 14:21 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

When shows nail in the structure again, I think Slow Horses, Ponies, Pluribus are all doing it… then it is QUITE engrossing. I’m not drifting, I can’t have them in the background.

But getting our attention on one screen is not enough. If you realise the intent is to destroy us, then it makes sense.

04.03.2026 22:24 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So many current shows build to one cliffhanger at the end of the episode, a perfect trap to then chainsmoke the next episode.

But that slower build without mini attention grabbing structured mini peaks encourages viewers to drift to second screening while still binging. The show is designed for it.

I have this theory nothing has changed in our ability to concentrate on a tv show.

The difference is past shows were built on a repeated pattern of building to a cliffhanger before *every advert break* then crescendoing those till the end of the episode, to satiate you for a WEEK till the next one.

I suffer from this quite severely, just to back up that, for me, documentation after the fact, and/or live commentary has helped me enormously

Sometimes I describe the dynamics of a conversation while in the conversation - it comes across as a recap to others - and it helps me process.

I have been attending business conferences and meetings and it seems to come up every four seconds.

I have been casually recommended it countless times to put critical documents together - β€œoh just use AI”, β€œjust vibe code it”, it’s literal insanity.

04.03.2026 19:12 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

So many things are wrong and literally people are voluntarily deskilling themselves, obliging, deferent

It’s barely a step away from collaboration. I know that sounds overblown but they put the whole world in a blender and are using it to tear children apart.

04.03.2026 19:09 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I am angriest about Gen-AI because it is specifically dismantling every tool of resistance we have. Unalgorythmically-dictated OG unslopped social media, forums, easily searchable internet, development of self expression & creativity, reliability of information, all builds community & a new world.

04.03.2026 19:07 πŸ‘ 7 πŸ” 2 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Also if you use it as an organisation it suggests that you simply…. do not know how to organise

04.03.2026 17:31 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

This is really important. If you use Gen-AI as a creative literally in any way, you are both *endangering your own copyright* AND plagiarising others’ copyright. There is no such thing as β€œAI-assisted creative work”, it is entirely (oxy)moronic

04.03.2026 17:27 πŸ‘ 127 πŸ” 47 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

Without a strict & clear anti-AI policy in place for both the writing & the art I wouldn’t even read the magazine let alone submit. I just immediately close websites even mid-sentence if I spot any AI art or words, the whole site becomes dead to me, like what is even the point of me being there.
