There was a humility in the generation that fought and won World War II that is completely missing today. They knew that every victory comes at a terrible price.
Newly released footage shows an ICE agent killing Rubin Ray Martinez, 23, in his car in Texas.
"He was shot at point-blank range through his side window by an ICE agent who was in no danger."

There's a war being waged at home, against our own citizens.
The thing about the anti-Christ is, everyone following him is pretty sure he’s the Christ.
What did you do?

Not mention, which of these adjacent countries is going to let us amass an invasion force?
The 82nd Airborne is not equipped to lead a campaign to seize and hold ground objectives. They are a light, rapidly deployable stopgap force meant to clear the way for heavier forces that can. Sending them alone into Iran, without a much larger buildup, would be suicide.
Trump’s declaration that he expects UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER from Iran does not seem to be calming markets
The self-harm that the US military (which I served in as an officer) is doing to its domestic reputation is unprecedented since Vietnam. It’s acting like the gunman for a mafia boss.
The US economy lost -92,000 jobs in February, a far cry from the +50,000 it was expected to gain. This is the 5th month out of the past 9 that has seen net job losses, for a total loss of -6,000 jobs over the past half year.

Unsurprisingly, Trump's immigration crackdown is still not delivering labor market improvements for the US-born
Over the last year, native-born unemployment is up from 4.3% to 4.7% while native-born employment has decreased
Get ready for some "warflation": higher prices for oil, gas, food (lots of fertilizer passes through Hormuz), goods made with petrochemicals (umbrellas, shampoo, toys, etc.), and pretty much anything that needs to be transported anywhere.

Demanding unconditional surrender without the means to enforce it gives your enemy an opportunity to defy you and make you look weak
No country is going to surrender unconditionally unless they have been thoroughly beaten beyond all hope. Historically, that means either a land invasion or atomic bombing.
“Police reported that Johnson, 45, tried to keep the children quiet by telling them he would share millions of dollars in restitution money he expected to receive from the Trump administration in connection with his Jan. 6 case.”

I think Congress should still impeach Kristi Noem (technically you can still impeach a former official). Her "reign" at DHS was so egregious that the full truth of it should be exposed, and she should be held accountable for it.
This is a bad plan, it would give nothing to the bottom 40% while giving the most to people in the 60-80th percentiles of the income distribution.

"Americans vote based on gas prices" is wildly overblown. There is basically no empirical support for it, it just sounds savvy to pundits. What Americans vote on is NARRATIVES about things like gas prices. Just don't somehow let high gas prices become a narrative about your own massive failure!
I’m thinking that rising gas prices bc of Trump’s stupid attack on Iran may hurt Trump’s popularity

nobody seems to fucking get this!!!! "the enemy gets a vote" but moreover trump/israel deliberately killed all the people at the top controlling the enemy, which does not destroy the enemy but in fact turns them into a dozen new, smaller enemies!! I feel like i'm going fucking insane
Yeah, there doesn’t seem to be any way for the U.S. to mount an invasion without months to years of preparation
like even if Trump wanted to just walk away and leave the region to burn it seems like he’s created a scenario where the two options are a cohesive enemy state that can strangle the global economy or a collapsed collection of militants that can strangle the world economy, WHICH IS ACTUALLY WORSE
A picture of PEW poll on global attitude survey, saying the % who rate the morality and ethics of people in their country as good vs bad, where the US has the worst rankings and Canada the best
Americans: we live in a fallen state—embroiled by sin, cheating, lying, and evil. You cannot trust anyone, not even those who claim to know you best
Canadians: I love my neighbors and my friends!
In my mind, there are voters who usually vote GOP and voters who usually vote Democrat. I don’t think any other distinctions are meaningful.
