I took the plunge on Crossover on Mac last month and it works pretty well, it’s kinda depressing that there are barely native Mac ports for games because they’re very capable and run pretty well even through a translation layer.

Idk I just can’t imagine years of setup for a product that basically blends in with the rest of the toys and junk they sell.

My guess is that they came up with a strict design for the cards that was to be used across all media to ensure consistency. So yeah, this likely included future merch/products but that’s just how all these things go I suppose.

I mean the product came out years after they were playing with the idea more in the comics, games and stuff, and it’s not like marketing for the physical cards is as egregious and in your face as say, the way they market LEGO Sonic in the games lmao
