What I’ve learned from How It’s Made: Everything manufactured still requires specialized human workers at different stages. That is what you’re paying for. That is why wages should be more reflective of a person’s skill and experience.

Very 1920’s film noire
We are seeing things never before seen, like a senator breaking the limb of a marine exercising his constitutional rights objecting to an illegal war, and then telling a voter to go fuck himself. Crazy, crazy shit. (Warning, you'll witness the break happen)
Many illiterate people can spell/aign their name, but nothing else. That’s why so much of the writing in animation is just squiggles.

me: why didn’t Ariel just write a note to the Prince after she lost her voice to let him know what Ursula did to her? i mean she signed the contract so we know she can write
pharmacist: i meant questions about the medication
No, he shouldn’t.
It’s also called sexual harassment.
There are way too many Mikes in this world. But, I’d say this is one of the least sexual sexual harassments that I’ve read this week.
YOU'RE TELLING US A MINK STOLE A JACKET?
a tiny light brown dachshund is being held up by a human who is out of frame. they are at a beautiful snowy mountain range that looks straight out of a Pinterest photo. the dachshund pup, Frankie, is wearing a full body puffer jacket that matches her light brown fur perfectly.
This is Frankie. She just got a fancy new puffer and thinks she’s better than everyone now. And she is correct. 13/10 (IG: frankielasaucisse)
Elder Millennial here, too. I’ve went from watching my dad slowly die of Multiple Sclerosis (this year will be 31 years ago) to seeing people still able to have a normalish lifestyle and lifespan.
don’t doomscroll.
read a chapter instead.
Harley Hellhound was put on a special senior diet food in her Golden Years. She hated it. We decided that her weight is consistent and we’re careful about where her calories come from. That seems more important to her health and happiness. 🐾🐕
the odds of me killing a plastic plant are low but not impossible

Blanket draped across a Queen-sized bed. The majority of it is made of cable patterned panels in 5 different light and dark shades of purple. They’re combined with white yarn and they have 1/2 of a cabled white border. It’s very close to completed.
The #PurpleBlanket I’ve been making my husband is getting closer to done. I had meant to post in-progress photos, but shit happened. Here’s my current progress. On a queen-sized bed. I have 1/2 the border to finish and then eleventy billion ends to weave in.
We've discovered over 6,000 alien worlds. But do these exoplanets have exomoons and exorings? Almost certainly! And we're allllllllmost there in discovering them, too.

Wait, woah. Is that $16? My moral low ground is on a budget.
I have plenty of moral low ground: enough to try all the things. Especially a donut chicken sandwich.
I'm addicted to Texas but my therapist says she can cure me with a 2 step program.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
“Pentatonic” means five gin and tonics, right?
Music, shmusic.
Much more fun than a pentagon, but not as much as a pentagram. Should really be pentatonish.
Harley does that with her morning constitutional. Takes time to find the right spot in our tiny courtyard, then nosing me toward the door.
I’m planning a break from knitting blankets to make at least 2 custom socks/mitts again! Choice of a selection of yarn and patterns. Most media that I post is Harley or knitting, and I plan on using photos of projects from RtV ‘24 as examples.
a throw quilt of mint green and purple striped diamonds in end to end columns against a light grey background.
Anyway, pretty much everything I'm doing this first half of the year is going to @ourfamilyourfight.bsky.social or @romancingthevote.com except cat toys and other random stuff up on Ko-fi. I've got this throw quilt still looking for a home and I may just put it up on RtV.
Cancelling plans is okay. Putting yourself first is okay. Going for a long walk is okay. Abandoning society is okay. Moving into a cave with a family of raccoons is okay. Giving them tiny swords & shields is okay. Do what you need to do to cope.
I love how every year there’s the people like you, and there’s the people posting their cold-weather-loving dogs just chilling in a snowdrift on their back porch or refusing to go in.
Harley used to be the latter. Now being warm is better because she is older with arthritis.
Phylogenetic and dating analysis of ancient and modern sheeppox virus. A. Maximum-likelihood phylogeny of ancient and modern SPPV genomes with ≥5× coverage, rooted using LSDV and GTPV. Nodes with bootstrap support of 100 are indicated by blue circles; other bootstrap values are shown at the corresponding nodes. Clades composed exclusively of modern genomes are collapsed and shown as triangles, and branches corresponding to ancient genomes are highlighted in pink. The grey box delineates the SPPV clade. B. Maximum-likelihood phylogeny of SPPV genomes with placement of low-coverage ancient samples using PathPhynder (Martiniano et al., 2022). For clarity, only the SPPV portion of the phylogeny is shown. Samples are coloured by material type, and low-coverage genomes (<5×) placed using PathPhynder are indicated by red triangles. Nodes with bootstrap support of 100 are marked with blue circles; other values are shown at the corresponding nodes. Tip labels indicate sampling location and calibrated historical date. Host species, sequencing coverage, and sample age are shown as a heatmap adjacent to the tips. C. Time-calibrated Bayesian phylogeny of the SPPV clade, with samples coloured according to material type.
