just fwiw, here are the arguments being made, in order:
1. iran has apologized to its neighbors and admitted it lost
2. this is unprecedented and because of me
3. iran has not surrendered and will collapse if it doesnβt admit it lost
4. i am going to bomb iran more and worse until it surrenders
Democracy has never been one of Trump's priorities. In fact, he's really not fond of it, and sees it as an adversary or something to try to get around.
Well, there might be no clear goal to the US attack on Iran, but there is definitely one thing that is not a goal--and that is democracy for Iran. www.cnn.com/2026/03/06/p...

Why was this story on the front page of the UKβs Daily Telegraph β but NOT Americaβs leading newspapers?
I keep asking myself this, and then sadly remembering I know the answer.
The WSJ is tacitly admitting that Polymarket is used by administration officials for insider trading, since that is the only reason a βfutures marketβ betting on a head of state would ever have news value. But they are too afraid to say it and seem to just hope you can figure it out. Annoying.
Remarkable: With support for the Iran war tanking, Trump is now throwing away the GOP's advantage on three core issues: Economy, immigration, national security.
A year ago it looked like he might be popular on all three. He lit it all on fire. 1/

It's hard to point out every day for ten years straight that Trump lies constantly about literally everything without sounding like a crank. It's unfathomable and insane that anyone could lie that much.

It has been over two years since Markwayne Mullin challenged someone to a cage match in the middle of a US Senate hearing. Why wonβt the Democrat Party acknowledge this?

Yes, Trump has started a full-scale war with Iran. But it won't be a forever war.
by Marc Thiessen
The American political class is utterly delusional, adrift in a dream of normality, unable to process the actual reality of events on the ground, where the US just launched a completely unprovoked war against a massive country, murdered its leadership, and demanded its conversion to a vassal state.
America has a long history of pointless and wasteful military adventurism. And in our quest to normalize Trump weβve stuck his Iran war in that box: βanother war, just like the rest.β Itβs not like the rest. Itβs an act of insanity, rogue state behavior. Donβt know how this ends until we admit it.
Obamaβs change in policy towards Cuba and the JCPOA happened, the world didnβt end, everything was fine. Part of manufacturing consent for more war is purposefully forgetting the very recent memory when it was proven to be wholly unnecessary.
Itβs been oddly surreal to hear the news framing the news around regime change in Iran and Cuba as the culmination of decades of shared agreement when Obama did significantly change US policy towards both in pretty recent memory.
