So happy with how this remix turned out. Billie Eilish's vocals on her track Blue are simply incredible and it is insane having them to work with.

A crane, or some bird variant that is like a crane. The photograph captures the windy white neck that leads to a piercing head. The long yellow and black beak emerges from the white feathered head. And its one piercing eye looks intently down.
Pic of the Day // I'm always fascinated with birds. I don't think that I'm a great bird photographer, but I really enjoy taking pictures of them. This was one in Florida during a trip to Disney.

Here is why artists and art is so important. It is the artist that helps us see aesthetic in things we normally wouldn't. I've always loved the patterns in both urban sounds and structures - but I've never really made an effort to capture. @learningcurvephoto.bsky.social has done just that!

Pic of the Day // Zion National Park in 2022. I so very understand why Ansel Adams loved photographing these parks.

Beautiful white and gentle mountain peaks rise up across the park. Taken from almost peak level across the park - and therefore the mountains descend rather than just up above us.
Pic of the Day // From our visit to Zion National Park. I find this park to be filled with quiet beauty. It doesn't smack of grandeur - rather it slowly immerses you inside its beauty.

While walking through the Valley of Fire (read my alt text from my other Valley of Fire for a description of the Valley) you will encounter these large clusters of rocks that have fallen and broken into many boulders large and small. These large rocks are quite rippled with bands of light and dark stone. And because the lines are so distinct they create amazing angular tension in the photograph. In this photo there is a large boulder that has strong diagonal stripes going from top left down to bottom right. This boulders stripes are juxtaposed against the horizontal, lateral stripes that are across the rock faces in the background and against the large mountain face. In the foreground we also find smaller rocks with diagonal stripes (out of focus) that go from lower left to upper right, and are therefore perpendicular to the main boulder subject. The entire photo is in black and white with a strong dark vignette that is dark (almost black) in the lower left of the frame, but against the white sky in the upper right - again creating a diagonal tension.
Pic of the Day // From my visit to Valley of Fire on Sunday. Sometimes you just find large rocks that create amazing line work

She's a cutie and loves going on hikes. I've plenty of pics of her but this one seemed to be as artistic as it was sweet :D
Reflection photography is tricky. Quite often it is overt and/or clichΓ© - both of which I am less enchanted with. However, there are beautiful moments where the moment captured is far more surreal and the aesthetics (for me) fly off the charts.
This work by @michaelcummins.co.uk does just that.
The Valley of Fire is a magical place. When you enter the most visited portion of the park, you have to drive through a road that winds down through a deep and vibrant rust rock scape that towers above you. All the rocks look like they are melting. The valley itself is a vibrant range of colors from yellows, to orange, to red, to brown, to green - and the colors are typically strongly striped. Some rocks and mountains jut straight up into the sky, while others lean and fall on harsh angles. Other rocks look like frozen molten rock. This photo looks across a set of rock faces that are 200 feet or so above ground level. Thrusting straight up in the distance is a marvelous rock face mountain that is strongly grooved from peak to ground. My photo captures this framed landscape with minimal color, allowing the contrasts of the rocks to stand out against the wispy-cottony clouds in the sky.

a splendid lizard poking its head up over the grassy hill. Both the foreground and background are out of focus, drawing attention to the wonderful and scaly detail of the lizards head and skin.
Pic of the Day // While in Latin America I fell in love with lizards. Everywhere I went I found a bevy of them. I rarely feel like I'm photographing them without them posing for me.

A bald silly man sitting behind an electronic drum kit looking all angst. Video projected upon said silly man, while he gets his angst on.
Back when I was playing, performing and touring with various bands. This one was PTI in 2007. (photo by Kitten)
yeah - it was at a little Mexican joint in Milwaukee. I was drumming for PTI, who was on tour with Stromkern around the 2007/2008 timeframe.
Truer words may have never been spoken :D
A wise man once told me "You are the drummer for an electronic band? Ohh, then you must be the chauffeur!" - Chris Randall.
I'll appreciate everything you do regardless of where you are. And I hope that treeland is soothing to the soul. Really love the photos.
wow wow wow - when you take ones love of tonal shading to the limit. This photo simply captures everything I love in composition. 1st it uses tonal shading where the photo has layers that look like paper cutouts. 2nd it has two birds that give scale and power to the composition. WOW
Pic of the Day // more fun with iPhones - quick snap of this mammoth mass of earth. I love how these things are just spattered across the west.
