Super cool work from our institute!
Supracellular control and coordination of tissue morphogenesis, through supracellular actomyosin assemblies, that is what my lab @cellbiol-mrclmb.bsky.social @pdncambridge.bsky.social and I like to dig into at the moment! Fascinating and beautiful! journals.biologists.com/dev/article/...

Using a simple model – #FruitFly eggs – biologist @theajacobs.bsky.social is investigating how cells build connections, and thus form tissues that only allow certain substances or cells to pass through. Here, she provides insight into her day-to-day research. @sfb1348.bsky.social

Neurobiologist Bente Winkler @b-wink.bsky.social investigates how the brain reacts to #neuroinflammation. For this, she is using genetically modified #Drosophila flies that enable an artificial activation of the immune system. Read more: uni.ms/48q7k
Exciting @sfb1348.bsky.social with Katja Rust (Philipps-University Marburg) on Thursday. She will speak about "A single-cell analysis of Hh and EGFR-RAS: Independent signaling pathways prevent tumorigenesis". More information: www.uni-muenster.de/SFB1348/en/i...

This dot is a region that intersect multiple cell junctions in an epithelia. These dots act as tiny anchors of cell contacts and they’re critical for epithelial coherence during homeostasis AND development.
I’m @katecavanaugh.bsky.social and I’ll be your guide on this 🧵 about tricellular vertices.
