I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

Three pairs of Jules and Tori as chibis, displaying their changing styles throughout their friendship. There are bullet points for each stage of their fashion they were in. Text reads: 7th Grade (Middle School) Age 12-13 Jules: Short, choppy hair. Can’t be bothered to tame it. Dressed in darker clothing and owned many graphic tshirts. Likes to fully cover up his arms and legs. Tori: Has a collection of band tshirts. Eventually convinces Jules to start a matching collection with her. Experimenting with eyeliner/makeup. Cuts hair herself and straightens it daily. She’s not allowed to dye it… 10th Grade (High School) Age 15-16 Jules: Grew out hair and used lots of products to try to manage curliness. Still prefers to cover up arms and legs, really likes to do this in his partner’s oversized jackets. Other students find him hard to approach because he “always looks pissy” Tori: Cuts and dyes her hair herself, still not allowed to dye her hair but did it anyways one late night in her bathroom. Got facial piercings, and got in trouble for them. Almost exclusively wears band/album art tops. (emo, grunge, rock, punk, alternative, etc.) “Modern Day” (it’s 2015-ish) Age: 19/20 Jules: Tori had been begging to dye his hair for years and he finally allowed her to, even trusting her enough to choose the color. Embraced himself/his style more and prefers a preppy-ish style. He likes button ups, cardigans, layering, and accessories. Tori: Early-Mid 2010s Tumblr grunge (inspired at least). Both of them got into Tumblr at 17 and got lots of fashion inspiration from there. They probably wore a flower crown at some point. Started experimenting with hair colors and prefer a fun, vibrant colors. Got more piercings. Probably also has tattoos I’m too lazy to design.

Digital art of a simple background for a future Endcard for my videos. In the center of the Endcard is a large round window with a pink, cushiony seating area. The window looks out to tree tops and the sky is cloudy. There are six shelves carved into the wall surrounding the window. The shelves hold house plants/cacti, video games, sketch books, owl plushies, and a cookie jar alongside a coffee pot with a silly straw sticking out of it. The wall itself is a photo of lined paper from one of my sketchbooks and all of the items on the shelves are in a sketchy, colored-pencil style.

Was going for a “cozy rainy day” vibe with this background~
