(2/2) As an agency committed to driving change, raising awareness, and building communities, we are disappointed by this choice from a leading provider in the social media space.
For ethically minded organisations, we'd recommend seriously considering a switch to another platform.
(1/2) Hootsuite has re-signed a contract with ICE.
A report shares, โHootsuite has discussed monitoring conversations and sentiment on social media related to the agencies, including talk of ICE enforcement actions in specific cities and public perceptionโฆโ

Did we miss anything?
โItโs so rewarding to see the difference you might have made to somebodyโs day with your social media postโ.
Danielle Wilkin, former Social Media Manager at The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, recently joined us for an episode at #HumansBehindTheHandles. ๐
Over the weekend Instagram users were flooded with password reset emails in what the company is calling "an issue" and definitely not a data breach. If you were one of these users then we'd suggest heading into your IG settings within the app to update your password and your contact details.

In her latest article, Emma Bracegirdle (founder of thesaltways.bsky.social), argues the rise of AI-generated imagery used by charities can reinforce racial, social and cultural prejudice while also damaging trust with the public.

In our #HumansBehindTheHandles chat with Lauren Plรผss - Marketing & Digital Comms Strategist, she reminded us that a quiet post can still land deeply with someone who needed it, especially when itโs about things like mental health and looking after yourself. ๐
Unfortunately we do love:
โ showing my friends how to post aesthetic IG stories
โ saving 500 trending audios I'm never going to use
โ my cat appearing on zoom calls
โ clients telling me they "love my work"
โ fun and creative brand guidelines
โ convincing myself "doomscrolling" is research for work

You want to be helpful. Responsive. โOn it.โ But being always on is quietly exhausting - and itโs not sustainable. Youโre allowed to: โธ๏ธ Let a message sit for a while before reading it or responding to it. โธ๏ธ Finish the thing youโre doing first. Prioritise as you go. โธ๏ธ Say, โIโll get back to you this afternoon / tomorrow / next week.โ
๐ฎโ๐จ Not every message needs an instant reply. Youโre allowed to pause. To finish what youโre doing. To not be โon itโ every second of the day.
Slower replies can make space for better thinking and less stress.
Take a little breathing room today. ๐
#StressAwarenessMonth
Stress Awareness Month You donโt have to scare people into action or be the driver of their anxiety. Not a nice position to be in. Instead of: โ โAct now!โ โ โDonโt miss out!โ โ โTime is running out!โ Try: โ โWeโre here when youโre ready.โ โ โSupport us in the way that works for you.โ โ โThis might help โ take a look.โ
โ๏ธ Comms can be powerful without being pushy. And if your audience already feels overwhelmed - with life, money, work, the news - pressure-heavy language can make things worse.
Calm copy still converts, and it builds trust, which is what matters long-term. ๐
#StressAwarenessMonth
Image of a lit candle and plant on a wooden shelf. The text Stress Awareness Month and The 3C rule precede these tips: Clear - Say what you mean, simply. Skip any jargon and ambiguity. Ask the actual question - short as possible. Concise โ Cut the fluff. People donโt need to read 12 paragraphs. A shorter email is often a more thoughtful one. Considerate โ Add warmth, even in a rush. A quick โno rushโ or โhappy Friday!โ might sound small โ but it makes your message more human.
Confusing emails donโt just waste time - they are sneaky little stress-creators.
One of our favourite tricks to take the tension out of your inbox is The 3C Rule. Clearer communication = less stress all round.
#StressAwarenessMonth
The following advice is given in white text on a purple background: Email with less chaos. Good comms reduces stress on both sides of the screen. Write the first draft badly. Perfectionism is exhausting. First drafts are meant to be messy. Say โcan this wait?โ You donโt need to be available immediately, all the time. Not everything is urgent. Use a template. Rewriting from scratch every time = stress. Blank pages are scary. Reuse what works. Step away from your inbox. 10 mins of fresh air > 30 mins of scattered replying or paralysis.
This #StressAwarenessMonth, we're sharing tips to help reduce pressure and breathe a bit easier so we can do good without burning out.
If youโre overwhelmed right now, start here:
โญ Write the first draft badly.
โญ Take 10 minutes outside.
โญ Use a template!
We're taking note ourselves. ๐

The rise of online nastiness isn't just a social media managerโs headache - it affects morale, purpose and how we all show up online.
Unpack whatโs behind the current wave of internet snark โ and how to keep your digital comms human, not hardened.
