I am happy to announce the launch of a new Arabidopsis genomics resource! Check out arabidopsislyrata.org Now you can easily look at the natural genetic variation across the entire species range of A. lyrata and A. arenosa.

I'm very excited that our paper on Project Psyche is now published! ๐ฆ๐งฌ
Over the last two years we've built an incredible community & already made huge progress. Read about this & how @projectpsyche.bsky.social will drive exciting and collaborative science here:

The post shows a picture of Meng after successfully passing her viva on a green background with words congratulating her on acquiring the PhD title.
๐ Congrats to Dr. Meng Zhang on defending her PhD in the lab of @amarques.bsky.social @mpipz.bsky.social! Welcome to the circle of doctors and all the best ahead! ๐

I was glad to host Kirsten Bomblies for our annual Barbara McClintock talk at the @mpipz.bsky.social to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
Great lab! Great PI! Great opportunity! Apply now!
New paper! From Sam Snodgrass and @genomeofforrest.bsky.social, w/ @druncie.bsky.social, @gcbias.bsky.social, and a collaboration with Andres Moreno and @santiagogmm.bsky.social. Can we quantify the impact of humans on maize dispersal?

Just new to bulesky and glad that the first post is to announce that I just finished my PhD defence with summa cum laude. Great appreciation to my supervisor @amarques.bsky.social. He is a very supportive mentor and gave me so much trust. I wouldn't have achieved what I have without his guidance.
Have you ever been asked from a journal to remove all your preprint citations from any type of article (review, mini-review, normal article) and remove all the content referring to them? I found that so nonsense ๐

Absolutely delighted that our paper on epigenetic dynamics during plant aging is out today in Science!

So proud to share that @meng-zhang.bsky.social has successfully defended her PhD with summa cum laude ๐๐
A fantastic achievement that reflects years of hard work, rigor, and creativity. Congratulations, Dr. Zhang! Very well deserved, and excited to see what comes next! ๐โจ
"So much is happening (loss of crossover, preferential transmission, elimination of homozygous embryos) to ensure nothing happened (clonality)"
What the hell? No recombination no problem? "These findings challenge the boundary between sex and clonality, revealing a unique evolutionary strategy linking genome architecture, recombination loss, and transmission bias." www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
This is just so weird/cool.
Sci-fi writers, read this!
kinda, but this species still needs to make seeds... although they are all clonal-like
Thanks a lot Dorota for this great work!
I recently worked with @amarques.bsky.social to make illustrations and finalize figures for three scientific publications focusing on the evolution and function of holocentric chromosomes
I can also help you illustrate your research with effective figures, graphical abstracts, and infographics ๐งช๐ก

@amarques.bsky.social really knows how to tell a story graphically. Maybe the most information dense but visually appealing figure I've seen recently!
Without you that wouldnโt be possible! Thanks a lot John ๐คฉ๐ฅ
