The Princess Bride is a perfect movie in the sense that Jay Bauman uses the term: it sets clear goals for itself and executes on them flawlessly. It's unpretentiously silly, charming and fun, and I fucking hate its guts because it's my parents' favorite movie and they watch it over & over & OVER.

I started having thoughts like this as graphics in video games advanced enough that scanning actors' faces in has become commonplace, which I think throws out a big advantage of games.
99% of the discussion of video generation in the context of movies is about making VFX cheaper, nobody really brings up the idea of replacing actors, but don't you think they're kind of a big weakness of movies as a medium, when you give it some thought?
