The asymmetry of the value placed on human life is so striking. Israel has a goal to recover 40-year-old remains; to do so, it invades a sovereign country, and the lives of 26 Lebanese are an afterthought. Their names not even worth printing in the New York Times.

The stores in Atlanta are an atrocity and it’s entirely because they don’t have enough staff but locking everything in a case doesn’t need a salary and I guess placated the “roving gangs are pillaging the Walgreens” panic of 2022

The only real benefit Target holds over online retail is you can physically try on clothes, admittedly a significant aspect, and as mentioned above Target has EXCELLED at making it the least pleasant experience possible. I’ve been in dressing rooms with literal PILES of clothes left on the floor.

Amazon continues to eat brick&mortar retail’s asshole out because a 2-day wait is worth not dealing with the far less enjoyable experience of going out to a store to immediately get things you don’t usually need immediately. This is “bootlegging media is simply the easiest option” but for pants.

Jesus Christ, man, you need to apologize for your craven cowardice on the nonexistent “DEI” panic, hire more people to fix the disgusting unattended shelves due to chronic understaffing, and stop making people need security to unlock a cabinet to buy underwear. This isn’t complicated.

The most annoying discourse of 2026 will absolutely be pointing out how Kamala Harris so obviously could have sleepwalked into the CA governor’s mansion being met by countless accounts sneering how it’s “insulting” to say she should have “settled” for running the sixth largest economy on the planet

Much like Scott Brown winning a few cycles after the “MA changes Senate vacancy law to prevent GOP governor from picking Kerry’s replacement” play in 2004, CA Dems’ ignorant lack of foresight in instituting the jungle primary biting them back in the ass is as predictable as it is hilarious

Fetterman is basically a reactionary now: there is no real effort to explain why Mullin - a buffoon who spent the week insisting we are not at war with Iran - is qualified. Trump nominated Mullin, and that’s good enough for him.

This administration truly is a mafia family in that no one can leave. Everyone understands this. There’s no “getting out” because that means you aren’t getting your pardon in January 2029. They all have to stay and please the boss; they literally have no choice

You’d think Patel would be a shoo-in for how blatantly he’s using taxpayer funds for personal flights and trips and whoosh here’s Noem to show off the *actual airplane she had built for her* to do that herself

Hope I’m wrong but INCREDIBLY skeptical of the rumor Trump’s going to fire Noem only because she will set marathon records to run toward turning State’s Evidence considering she’s the going-to-prison-est person who has ever worked for this administration and it’s not even close competition

[We see a close up of a young white male, tanned, white teeth, coiffed hair clearly an influencer on social media. It is an image such as you see when social media posts are shown on the news. In the corner of the screen is named a location: DUBAI. He is staring slightly off-camera for several silent panels of the comic strip. His eyes move slightly. He is having a thought.]

From off-screen a newsreader’s commentary comes:

NEWSREADER:

Extraordinary images here

of an expat in Dubai

[The influencer’s eybrows raise slightly]

…Having their first ever geopolitical thought.

[CUT TO a BBC news scene. The BBC newsreader CLIVE MYRIE is talking to an interviewee next to the screen showing the social media influencer’s face. The interviewee’s name is David Jones].

CLIVE MYRIE:

To explain the significance of this moment we’re joined by David Jones, our Expat Thoughts correspondent

DAVID JONES:

Clive, this is momentous

It was caught on film at the end of an Instagram post titled: ‘Dubai Is Brilliant’.

[Pointing at the screen, the influencer’s expression still the same]

You can clearly see in the eyebrows here, the dawning realisation that there *might* be something in the world beyond his dickhead self.

It marks a *huge* departure from all the Dubai Expat’s previous thoughts.

CLIVE MYRIE:

Which are…?

DAVID JONES:

You've Got To Get Yourself Out Here Mate, Everything Is So Clean, I Don't Have To Pay Taxes,
I Am Incurious As To Why I Do Not Have To Pay Taxes, and Spa.

CLIVE MYRIE:

And might we see an expansion of these new Thoughts in coming days?

DAVID JONES:

I think we can expect to see:

“I Deserve To Be Airlifted By A Country I Pay No Tax To”

CLIVE MYRIE:

Mmm.

AI has the potential to be a fundamental world changing tool in so many ways but nope we're going to waste most of the world's resources using it as a racism and child porn engine for the people who now don't have to ask normal healthy people to help them get racism and child porn

It’s hard not to conclude this wasn’t another Beto-style “I was born for it, man!” high on their own supply act. But Beto had nowhere near the level of power Crockett already did. You don’t give that up unless you’re going for broke, and by broke I mean post-Congress seven figure consultant salary.
