I grew up surrounded by Navy carrier pilots. When the black car pulled into the neighborhood the bicycle brigade, congregated, and quit breathing. Not a single child moved until we knew who had lost their dad. These children had more empathy and compassion than the secretary of defense.

Diesel prices are going to cause recession/stagflation. Our economy runs on diesel. Everything in the grocery store from farm to table relies on diesel. Couple the War with the rest of the world’s economies that are growing, we will still pay even when our’s is collapsing.

I recall sitting in my dad’s Kingswood Estate for two hours in a gas line so he could get a maximum of 10 gallons. The car got 9-12 mpg on a good day. It held over 20 gallons. Nice car, however. Today if that happened, I can envision shootings at pumps. Everyone is armed and on edge today.
Diesel is almost $5 here. Grocery prices will go up again to cover the costs of transport. It was rising before Iran because the rest of the world’s economies are growing. The world runs on diesel.
