I know people dislike BMI as measure of obesity, but a new study in JAMA shows it's actually a very good predictor of excess adiposity.

Just wrapped up a wonderful visit from @drsherrypagoto.bsky.social here at #ECU. My students are already gushing with admiration and looking to follow in her footsteps in creating their professional networks on social media.
My very first published paper was a genetic test to accurately identify different species of bumblebees which are almost morphologically identical for conservation purposes. "If it looks the same it's the same for all meaningful purposes" is nonsensical if you know *anything* about biology.
