I don’t think I ever had the misfortune of having an instructor like that. And I much prefer when students are engaged and ask questions! This is why I hate online teaching :(

With a better (algebraic) type system like in Haskell or Rust, I would argue that even Apps Hungarian is unnecessary. Use the type system to make it impossible to assign a row to a col or write user input wo escaping it. You’d have to do an explicit cast in the former, or a conversion in the latter.
