Had so much fun recording this one! The book was an unexpected treasure that wasn't on my radar at all but turned out to be a great slice of Doctor Who, that genuinely taught me something about an interesting bit of history.

As a mathematician and a Doctor Who fan, I adore Christopher H. Bidmead’s work on Doctor Who, which showed how maths and science can be powerful, mysterious and poetic. Castrovalva remains a personal favourite. I wish I had the chance to meet him. RIP

I would probably say the RTD2 episodes that beat it for me are Church on Ruby Road, 73 Yards, and Rogue. Maybe Dot and Bubble too.
The Star Beast is still my favourite 60th special, and one of my favourite RTD 2 stories full stop. I am aware there are many contrary opinions to this 😅

FWIW I have seen every Doctor Who story and still had no idea of this. Death to the Daleks I have only seen once about four years ago.
Was trying to search for the "living, bubbling lump of hate" Dalek description earlier. Was so sure it was Remembrance of the Daleks. Then when it wasn't I checked Dalek. Turns out it's from Death to the Daleks! That line is way better than that story deserves.
