Graphic with busy car congested road. Text says car dependency is the opposite of freedom. Mobility freedom comes from mobility choices. Ad is from the Urban Truth Collective.
How about those gas prices? Brutal, huh?
You know what really costs us all a lot?
Car dependency.

Since it's so important to him to be POTUS during the 250, it's damned lucky he didn't win the 2020 election.

My experience is that people associate cars with personal freedom, and spend a life reinforcing that belief, while actually chaining themselves to maintaining an expensive, complex machine, that also limits where they can go.

And in winter, local government clears the roads but sidewalk are mostly ignored (often the law says property owners must clear, but either folks choose the fines or it's not enforced at all).

The biggest challenge I tend to face is places with no sidewalk or other safe pedestrian path even though they would be a short walk. So I have to get on my bike to use the roadway (or risk walking on the road or through private property).
Not great.

I hear this all the time from folks (especially when they learn that I have never had a car and avoid being a passenger in one).
Yeah, I have to plan my time *differently* than the car people, but my life isn't impossible. It was way easier when I lived in a city, sure.

Seems odd that there isn't more hype around the 250. You'd think we'd be having parades and festivals and TV specials and entire Target/Wal-Mart fashion lines and McD 250 patties andβ¦
Where's the hurrah?

I voted for her.
Biden and Harris both should have made better choices. Harris should have been campaigning from the moment Biden was inauguratedβshe needed to be primed to follow him whether he was elected for a second termβand Biden needed to make his decision much sooner or stick it out.

TruthSocial post by Donald J. Trump (8:22 a.m. March 8, 2026):
βGreat Job by hard working Scott Pressler on βFox and Friendsβ talking about using the filibuster, or talking filibuster, in order to pass the SAVE America Act, an 88% issue with all voters. It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else. Must go to the front of the line. I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed, and not the watered down versionβgo for the gold: must show voter ID and proof of citizenship; no mail-in ballots except for military, illness, disability, trave; no men in women's sports; no transgender mutilation for children! Do not fail! President Donald J. Trumpβ
The Supreme Court has held that if the President wishes to approve a bill, the Presentment Clause only requires him to sign it. He need not write on the bill the word βapprovedβ nor the date of approval. The text of Article I requires that the President sign a bill, if at all, βwithin ten Days (Sundays excepted)β after presentment. [begin highlight] Failure to sign has different consequences depending on whether the legislature is in session, since the President cannot return a vetoed bill to Congress when the legislature is adjourned. If the President does not sign a bill within ten days of presentment while Congress is in session, the bill automatically becomes law. [end highlight] If Congress adjourns while the bill is awaiting signature and the President does not sign the bill within ten days of presentment, the bill does not become law. This is sometimes called a βpocket veto.β However, a President wishing to approve a bill is not required to sign it on a day when Congress is in session. He may sign within ten days (other than Sundays) after the bill is presented to him, even if that period extends beyond the date of Congressβs adjournment.
Does he know that his signature is not required? Like, not only can they override his veto, but if they're in session and just doesn't sign it (doesn't return it), then it's still law. Would love to see a strong Congress show him how unimportant the role of POTUS is (and then kick him out).

No one should trust the US. It was a dangerous thing to do when we had ordinary politicians in charge who tried to maintain some stability. It's insane to trust this regime (and likely the next, since the weaknesses have been exposed and exploited so brazenly).

My polar opposite.
My take that'll make nobody happy is no time zones. Local time to arbitrary levels of precision. We have the technology. Let every institution decide if it wants to shift hours.
