Between 60 Minutes and this, Paramount’s new owners have already shown us everything we need to know about them.
Today I found a quarter with adorable bats on it. Which state is pimpin’ their winged mammal population? Why it’s unincorporated U.S. territory American Samoa! I’m gonna use mine to get 7 minutes on a parking meter on Ventura Blvd.
What to do, what to do
Today I learned the first weinermobile was in 1936. It could have been sent on a mission to kill Hitler.
God bless the little weird buildings with names of Los Angeles.
RIP Neil Sedaka who wrote this gem for himself, but it took Captain & Tennille to make it a classic. Is he singing higher than Tennille?
I didn’t get Last Year at Marienbad one whit in high school. Loved it as an adult. It’s like Kubrick plus Hitchcock plus perfume commercials (Channel did costumes). It’s as vague as I remember, but much easier to track if you’re into literary fiction and sci-fi. A must see for free on Kanopy.
Dog unemployment has reached 98%
In hindsight, it was a mistake to bring my family to Murder Island
Finished this wild, twist-filled 40s novella and am now firing up Last Year at Marienbad on Kanopy. Apparently Morel inspired it. Both book and movie were free with a library card.
if someone made an Al that took the wealth of billionaires, it'd be outlawed immediately
Not looking forward to canceling HBO, but I’ll do it.

Chapter 1 of Moby Dick, page 1 The phrase ‘Call me Ishmael’, the first sentence of the book, is highlighted in blue, with careful highlighting on the very big C at the start. Above this, written in ballpoint pen ‘His name’
Love the glimpse into the beautiful mind that notated this used copy of Moby Dick I got
The arty ones will remain (wider). Only the skinny mass market ones (pocket sized) are going bye bye. I used to have a ton of them before I learned I have a mold allergy. Then all my yellowing spy and detective novels had to hit the road.
Tragic. Especially since a lot of young people like books on paper.
This was the inside cover. Mass market paperbacks kept me reading in the Summer. Sad to see them go.
I don’t read on paper anymore (need that big ole Kindle font size), but I will pour one out tonight for the death of mass-market paperbacks in America. Horror novels in particular had terrific covers in the 70s and 80s. Never forget the scares in this one I read in elementary school.
Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.
I watched every single episode of season one. Don’t remember a goddamned thing.
May every Republican running for reelection run on this plan.
My wife and I want different things. I want to wave my penis around and make light saber noises and she wants a divorce
Hey Dodgers, look how easy it is.
