I am using this sketchbook backwards for some reason

A big brown bird is foraging in a meadow with colourful flowers. In the background is a tree with leaves that have turned a brilliant orange in fall. This photo was taken when I went to our local dump in Lake Placid to get rid of some recycles. I’ve gotten some lovely scenic shots there, because it’s an open area with mountains in the distance. In the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, even the views from the dump are stunning.

The alternate theme for #birdoftheday is #colourfulcaptures – a colourful bird or background. I’m going for the background: a #wildturkey foraging at the local dump with fall foliage in the background. Lake Placid, New York (15 October 2021).

I told off my teacher so hard about safety regulations, when she tried being condescending to us about another location,and minding about it, when we were real bad on it too, that the next week the emergeny doors were all properly unlocked and so were the hoses and we finally got extinguishers.

I saw this...and I don't have an insta but I still wanted to quickly sketch it because it is so cute.

A small brown sparrow perches on a branch of a hawthorn bush surrounded by glossy green leaves and bright red berries. The bird’s soft, buff-brown feathers catch the sunlight, and pieces of crushed berry cling to the tip of its beak as it pauses mid-meal. Several berries around it show hollowed centres where they’ve already been eaten, while the blurred green background makes the warm reds and earthy tones of the bird stand out.
