That's the saddest part

I was getting out the car carrying a bag of groceries and a can of beer fell out, hit the gravel, put a hole in the can and the shaken, spraying can shot back into the car and rolled around covering the car in beer. I just stood, watching because it was so stupidly unlucky. The car stinks.

Does make you equally furious and very sad? When I was 8 I couldn’t believe the unfairness of it!!

I just remembered how problematic felt-tip pens soaking through the paper and onto other things used to be when I was about 8. It could ruin a whole day.

Nearly finished reading The Shining, first time reading King, and it’s a different beast than the film, interesting to compare. But my fav scene was just a very small one with Dick Halloran talking to a snow plough driver. It’s just lovely and warm and unexpected

Waffles was a complex dog. Didn’t really enjoy being stroked below the collar, very angry, affectionate to strangers, excellent recall, hated me turning off lights. He loved as much as he hated. But he’s gone now and he was loved by us and we miss him.

They all depress me greatly so yeah, probably won’t watch it
