Who would have thought when I was nursing/ambulancing that I would end up being responsible for radioactive samples and being called in by teachers to play with the spicy metals in front of kids.

The heart and lung dissection I can understand πŸ˜‰

Driving home from mum’s home, it’s a five minute drive, and I feel like I just want to keep driving into the night. Hop on the M1 and keep going.

But tomorrow I get to play with some radium and other radioactives in class for some SEND kids - so I’m looking forward to it.

As usual, Netanyahu is both the smallest, most threatened boy, and the biggest, most threatening bully.

Him and Epstein are the twin engines driving antisemitism worldwide.

It’s so real I have emotional flashbacks to my time working in A&E.

Good emotions at that.

Hacks 'Kiss your Frogs Goodbye' 1979.TV Commercial YouTube video by Mackenzie Rough

Talking to work colleague about old advert β€˜surely you remember it?’

It was apparently on TV 10 years before she was born.

I swear the only reason I yet live is due to spite.

No, Claude is not anxious.

Anxiety requires two components:

1. Awareness of the possibility of annihilation of self.
2. An autonomic nervous system.

Mimicry of the words of an anxious person is not being anxious.

A dog can be anxious. Your plagiarism machine cannot.

It’s certainly part of why I get choked up about it, having been an A&E nurse in the past, and yet now work in a field where utter incompetence is tolerated and rewarded.

Which drives me fucking spare on a daily basis.

An image of a quotation from Marcus Aurelius' MEDITATIONS which reads:

"52. You are not compelled to form an opinion about this matter before you, not to disturb your piece of mind at all. Things in themselves have no power to extort a verdict from you."

Beneath the quote, diagonal pink type has been applied which reads;

Marcus Aurelius has already released you from the obligation to have a take

I keep seeing so many people on social media obsessed with having a take, in times of crisis. Hell, I've done it too. But remember: You DON'T have to have one.

It's ok to say I have no idea. Also, see image:

I think the world of political reporting would be improved greatly if journalists were allowed to end their questions with "...you fucking idiot?" more often.

"Why are you doubling down on this immigration policy, you fucking idiot?"

"Why chase the Reform vote, you fucking idiot?"

etc.

Yeah, I always have to slow my thinking to make sure which one I’m reading about.

They mostly, and I do not joke or exaggerate here, stared at me slack-jawed.

Just like the nurse when I asked if I was in the right place. As if no one had asked that question before.

Genuinely looked like they’d been stunned by a blow to the head.

So yeah, I wanted an ECG and troponin - and they struggled to do even that for me.

Still, at least I got to read my own ECG. And teach the HCA doing the test where to correctly put the leads. πŸ˜‚

It’s probably toothache πŸ™„

But when you are woken up with pain in the jaw and left arm, you remember telling your students that, for example, toothache doesn’t protect you from a heart attack as well.

And I can’t feel my chest from nerve damage, so I wouldn’t expect classic chest pain as well πŸ˜‰

01.03.2026 21:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So yeah, only go to Queens in Romford if you want to end up paperwork on the coroner’s desk.

(Pain is coming back so I’m off to chew on a β€˜probably not an actual overdose’ amount of ibuprofen washed down with some vodka I seem to remember stashing under my kitchen sink)

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

(Could it be because as well as running the shop floor I was also checking on and sorting out patients, rather than letting junior staff work without support?)

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

And, I know it’s only one metric - but the nurse in charge was beautifully turned out, not a crease out of place, hair and makeup spotless, not a bead of sweat.

How come when I did that job I was always a sweaty, creased, disheveled mess with a uniform with fresh body fluids on it?

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

…what I called β€˜wartime rules’. Which meant every member of staff has to triage their actions to get the basic important shit done.

And that wasn’t what was happening.

I only got seen because the *other patients* saw me and hassled staff on my behalf.

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

…the staff there were not doing the bare fucking minimum in order to keep patients safe - including walking a potential paralysing condition around.

When I ran the shop floor of an A&E (under years of Tory fuckery) I would not have allowed that to happen.

Don’t get me wrong, we worked under…

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

…came home and had a large dose of painkillers, still had excruciating pain but at least I wasn’t being ignored in a corner on a plastic chair.

It’s a good job I could read my own ECG.

And while, yes, you could see that underfunding and other systemic issues are present…

01.03.2026 11:33 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Went to A&E last night (I’m fine) with symptoms of a heart attack, LAS refused me an ambulance, A&E ignored me for over an hour before doing the completely basic assessment.

What happened to β€˜time is myocardium’?

Walked out with cannula in situ after two hours without pain relief…

Not the right decision as I need you to go out and infect the whole ground so that some of them can die because I hate humans.

Yes. Right decision. πŸ˜‰

I wonder how soon it'll be before the first sitting Labour MP defects to the Green Party

27.02.2026 10:36 πŸ‘ 23 πŸ” 9 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

I’d rather they don’t.

Because if Labour become more popular then that just splits the progressive vote and Reform get in.

I’d rather have a straight Green/Reform race than Labour/Green/Reform split. Although I’ll be happy if Advance split the β€˜idiot arsehole’ vote. πŸ˜‚

I bought some things that are less aggressive than skate or hockey tape, they work well for me.

I stuck mine to the case I put my phone in which was somehow even slippier. Yet to drop it and I have very β€˜droppy’ hands.

This, too, is part of the performance of make-believe in superintelligence. AI people have accelerated into the public cosplay of playing dress-up with dolls with the hopes that this ritual performance will keep the economy from crashing.

I know, it’s crazy.

Unless if you want to sound like a bland corporate account spouting meaningless bollocks.

Honestly, they are writing themselves out of a job…

But y’know, humans can’t see the long term effects of stuff. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
